About Pamela
Much of Pam's legal career has been as in-house counsel for nonprofits and as a public servant with the state of Georgia. Her areas of expertise include employment law, juvenile issues, such as sentence modifications and other juvenile-related matters, landlord/tenant litigation, and school and education law. Pam started her legal career as an attorney with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, where she advocated for and represented individuals who could not otherwise afford to hire a lawyer. While at the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Pam successfully argued that the Atlanta Housing Authority had a legal duty to provide safe housing for its tenants. The Court consequently directed the Authority to transfer a family whose apartment had been subject to repeated gunfire to a safer housing unit. In 1989, Pam became staff counsel with the Georgia Association of Educators, where she represented public school educators and employees in school-related and employment matters. In 1999, Pam joined the legal team at the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice as a staff attorney, where she developed an expertise in criminal justice matters affecting juveniles. Presently, Pam is embarking on the second chapter of her life by building this law practice with her niece.
Pam has always been engaged in broader community activities. As a member of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, she presented a workshop on the school to prison pipeline. She also served on the Citizens Review Panel for the DeKalb County Juvenile Court. Pam currently participates in community discussions on racial reconciliation through One Small Change, a program designed to provide a conducive atmosphere to discuss difficult social topics.
When Pam is not working, she enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and reading.
Pam is licensed to practice law in Georgia and is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
