About Peter

Peter J. Peaquin, Experienced Washington DUI Lawyer

My law practice, located in Seattle, Washington, is devoted to the defense of those accused of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and related charges in Western Washington State. As a Washington DUI defense attorney, I am passionate about my clients, the law, and my practice.

I have over 13 years of criminal defense experience. I have defended hundreds of cases in court, including cases involving DUI, vehicular offenses, homicides, and various other felony offenses. My background covers courtroom and trial technique, science, and DUI practice and procedures. When appropriate, I call on a network of experts who can help clarify issues that permeate various aspects of a DUI charge.

Because of my DUI litigation experience and familiarity with Washington drunk driving laws, I know how to view DUI evidence. In my experience, many officers do not follow proper field sobriety test procedure, and they make concessions when confronted with the proper way of administering and scoring the tests. Also, many people plead guilty prematurely based on a failed breath test. I know that this is often a grave mistake, as there is always a chance to have the breath test suppressed.

My Practice is About People

I keep my practice small by choice. By accepting fewer clients, I am able to give each client the individual attention and focus necessary to most effectively defend against a DUI charge.

I provide a free initial consultation so that potential clients can get to know me and get a sense of my competence before choosing which DUI lawyer to hire. Someone accused of DUI should never rush out and hire an attorney. This is one of the most important decisions a person can make; one's freedom may depend on it. And because of the nature of DUI cases, they can take several months to resolve. One needs to be comfortable with the DUI attorney chosen.

I know the real stress, uncertainty, fear and pain that come with a DUI charge. I know the political climate disfavors those accused of DUI, and that some prosecutors, judges, and the Department of Licensing Hearing Officers treat DUI defendants as if they are guilty before any of the facts are presented. I know that every case involves a fight, and I fight hard for every client, every day.

If you have been accused of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in Western Washington, including King County and the Cities of Seattle, WA, and Bellevue, Snohomish County and the City of Everett, and Pierce County and the City of Tacoma, please contact us today for a free consultation.
