Phil received his Associate in Claims designation from the Insurance Institute of America, his Bachelor of Science degree from Wake Forest University, and graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University. While there he was active with the WMU-Cooley Law Review. Phil is married and has two children, is an avid sports fan (especially football), has spent time volunteering as a youth football and basketball coach, and is passionate about his family and travel. Phil also serves on the advisory board of Uwharrie United Methodist Church in Troy.
He has admission to practice law in North Carolina and the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina and is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association.
