About Philip
Phillip Lee Westee has practiced law since 1986. His career has been centered on litigation but his accomplishments have occurred in and out of the courtroom. A precise and gifted analyst, Mr. Westee's clients can expect tireless and thorough review of all theory and procedure when they turn to him for legal advice. The majority of his practice centers on personal injury matters, wrongful death suits, products liability, and professional medical malpractice. His advocacy skills have influenced the law through several reported cases, including, Duncan v. Integon, 482 S.E.2d 325 (Ga. 1997).
While he has influenced the law through his work in court, Mr. Westee has also affected the practice of law through his teaching and writing. He has lectured on subrogation through the Cobb County Bar Association, assisting local lawyers with this complicated issue. Mr. Westee has also published his article The Evolution of the Complete Compensation Rule in Georgia, in The Verdict. He has been a member of the Georgia Bar Association since 1986 and is admitted in all Georgia Courts, including state and superior courts, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, and the Supreme Court of Georgia. He is also admitted to practice law in New York Courts. Mr. Westee is also admitted to practice in the federal court system through the United States District Court of the Northern District of Georgia and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Mr. Westee graduated form Atlanta's Emory University School of Law in 1986. He also earned a Mater's degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) in 1986 through a joint studies program from Emory University Graduate School of Business Administration. Mr. Westee did his undergraduate work at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1982.
