About R.
R. Dewey Burnsed is a native Floridian, born in Glen St. Mary on February 27, 1939. He earned his Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Florida in 1960 and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 1965. Three years after joining Davis, McLin, Burnsed & Austin, P.A., he became the City Attorney for Leesburg; a representation the Firm continues today.
Dewey Burnsed was elected and served as President of the Lake County Bar Association in 1972-1973. Concurrently, he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar. In 1975, he returned to his alma mater as a Professorial Lecturer in Legal Ethics. He was admitted to practice before the Florida Supreme Court in 1970.
Today, Dewey Burnsed limits his practice to real estate and is the lead attorney in the Firm's representation of The Villages of Lake Sumter, Inc. He serves as Chairman on the Boards of Directors for Citizen's First Bank and the Villages Regional Medical Center.
