Criminal Defense | Two hours Jury verdict of not guilty | I was assigned to represent a poor, mentally challenged man who was falsely accused of felony rape. He was stuck in jail for seven months awaiting his trial because he did not have money to post bail. From the very first preliminary hearing, it was evident to me that my client was innocent and the alleged victim was lying. My client and I decided that none of the offers by the district attorney, which included state prison, were acceptable. So we went to trial. After trial it took the jury only two hours to render a verdict of not guilty.
