About Regina
Regina Wilson Davis was born in Florence, Alabama, and is a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide. Therefore, it was only natural that she attend the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, first to earn her Bachelor's in Psychology and then her Master's in American History. Due to her love of history, she initially considered becoming a teacher, but instead decided to devote her life to helping those that needed it most. So she moved to Georgia, where she became a social worker in inner-city Atlanta, dedicating herself to defending the rights of children.
As part of this work, Ms. Davis often appeared in court representing the interests of the children in her protection. Realizing that she could be a better advocate for their needs as an attorney, she resolved to put herself through law school. During the day, she continued to work full-time as a social worker, while at night she attended the Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta. They were challenging years, but she was successful, and in 1979, she obtained her Juris Doctor and became a member of the Georgia Bar.
Since earning her law degree, Ms. Davis has practiced disability law exclusively, working on both sides of the bench. For years, she worked with the Social Security Administration as a staff writer for the Office of Hearings and Appeals, writing hundreds of disability decisions for Social Security Judges, becoming well acquainted with the inner workings of the system, the ins and outs of the disability regulations, and the preferences of one judge after another. This knowledge was invaluable when she entered private practice in 1990, and began her work on the other side of the bench - helping disability claimants secure their hard earned Disability Insurance Benefits and much needed Supplementary Security Income.
Ms. Davis has successfully handled thousands of disability cases, at both the administrative and appellate levels, all over North Georgia and Alabama. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR), and is admitted to practice in the Superior Courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Middle District of Alabama, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
