About Richard
Richard Chusid specializes in commercial, business and securities litigation, debt consolidation and negotiation, business formation, securities arbitration, retail and commercial collections, municipal law/DWI and investor fraud matters. He has worked on cases involving credit card defense, contract and employment disputes, oppressed shareholder actions, restrictive covenants and non-competes, alleged employee violations of fiduciary obligations regarding trade secrets and proprietary information, and handles collection matters in both New Jersey and New York, where is he licensed as an attorney. He is also an experienced civil mediator who mediates cases in the New Jersey state-wide civil mediation program, as well as in the Special Civil Part.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Chusid was a regular and options principal member of the American Stock Exchange. He has a breadth of understanding of the United States' securities markets, both from a trading and legal perspective, that few attorneys possess.
Mr. Chusid also provides expert witness and case preparation services in securities arbitration matters before FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), formerly the NASD, and has been retained as an expert, for both claimants and brokerage houses, in federal courts in New Jersey and Massachusetts, where he has provided testimony and expert reports. He has participated in numerous securities arbitrations, spanning 15 years, as an advocate, panelist and chairperson, and has been involved in numerous securities mediations involving a variety of securities-related disputes.
