Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
With my focus on criminal defense, Every case is important, and I can't specify one, nor would it be right to discuss a clients matter in a public forum. I represent many people accused of something they did not do or were having a momentary lapse of judgment. Getting client through the complex legal system and back to their normal lives is what we do, Day in and Day out.
How did you build a successful practice?
Hard work and caring about the outcomes for our clients. If you do good work, the business will come to you!
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for a lawyer with expertise and specialization in their specific legal issue, backed by a track record of success. Reputation and references from past clients and peers are crucial indicators of a lawyer's abilities. Effective communication skills, including responsiveness and clarity, are essential for a smooth attorney-client relationship. Accessibility and availability to address client concerns and questions promptly are key. Finally, a lawyer's fees and billing structure should align with the client's budget and expectations.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT Local attorneys will know the specific laws and regulations in their jurisdiction. They understand the intricacies of local legal systems, court procedures, and how judges and prosecutors operate. They have experience working in the local courts and have established relationships with judges, prosecutors, and other legal professionals. These relationships can benefit negotiations and court proceedings, as they facilitate more favorable outcomes for their clients. Furthermore, local attorneys are familiar with the local community and culture. This understanding is crucial when building a case strategy, selecting a jury, or dealing with specific local issues that may impact a legal matter. Local attorneys often rely on their reputation within the community for business. They are motivated to provide quality legal services and build client trust because their success depends on word-of-mouth referrals and local recommendations. In summary, a local attorney's knowledge of local laws, familiarity with local courts and procedures, relationships within the legal community, and accessibility make them essential for individuals and businesses seeking legal representation in their jurisdiction. Their expertise and local connections can be invaluable in achieving a positive legal outcome.
