A number of variables make up the answer to how my attorney fee is calculated. First, if it is an accident/personal injury case there is no money to be paid by the client. Legal work is performed on a contingency basis. When I collect money upon your behalf my fee will be the customary one-third. If I do not collect any money for you I will never charge you. The other areas that are specialties of mine are Divorce/Family Court matters such as Spousal Maintenance and Child Support as well as Child Custody and Visitation. My hourly fee will depend on what type of Family Law Case it is (i.e. child support)and the complexity of the case will be a factor as well. I try and work with the potential client. Typically, it will be based on the factors listed above. Additionally, I consider the financial resources of a potential client when quoting an hourly wage. This also applies to Criminal Law Cases, Traffic Matters and all other areas. However, at times, depending on the nature of the representation required and the particular type of case, I may simply quote a price to handle from beginning to end without any hourly charges.
