About Robert

Rob Gurry is originally from West Chester, a northern suburb of Cincinnati, and he has lived and worked in Dayton for the past ten years.  Rob graduated summa cum laude in Business Administration from Lee University in Tennessee in 1999.  He worked as a sales executive for LexisNexis Group, a Fortune 500 legal and business information provider headquartered in Miamisburg, Ohio.  In 2002, Rob attended the University of Dayton School of Law on an academic scholarship, where he served as a Staff Writer and Associate Editor on Law Review, was a finalist in the Walter Rice Moot Court Competition, and competed on the Mock Trial Team.  He co-founded the Volunteer Student Law Project, which pairs University of Dayton law students with local attorneys to perform pro bono work for indigent clients.

During law school, Rob served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Michael R. Merz, United States Magistrate Judge for the US District Court in Dayton.  Rob authored an article focusing on discrimination in jury selection, which was published in the Regent University Law Review and won the Cohen Excellence in Writing Award.  He also won three CALI Awards for achieving the highest grades in several law school courses, including Employment Law. 

Upon graduating cum laude (top 11% of his class) in 2005, Rob began practicing in complex litigation at Faruki Ireland & Cox P.L.L. in downtown Dayton.  He handled matters in a variety of areas, including contract and construction disputes, employment litigation, discrimination, non-competition agreements, products liability, class actions and corporate securities.

Rob is a member of the Dayton Bar Association and the Ohio Bar Association.  Rob is a former member of the American Bar Association and the Karl D. Kessler Inn of Court and previously served on the Planning Commission in West Carrollton and the Boards of Zoning Appeals in West Carrollton and Miami Township.

Rob resides with his wife and daughter in Miami Township, where Rob enjoys running, reading, and American history and politics.
