Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Recently I helped a single mother obtain supervised visitation for the baby's father. The man had threatened to hurt her and the baby and had a history of violence. I was able to work with the mother and her two-year old daughter to get her protection as well as provide a safe environment for the child to still be able to see her father.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can provide my potential client with information about my skills/expertise and what I can bring to the table. As for information I need from a client: I need to know the client's situation, who are the parties involved, and what do they expect as an outcome.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Working in Family Law can be a struggle at times because it can be full of dark times, but as a Christian I feel like I can use my beliefs to reach out and help those who are in need during these times in their life.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
My first interest outside of law is spending time with my wife and three daughters. We enjoy going out to the Dallas Arboretum and rolling around in the grass. I am an avid runner and have participated in 5K, 10K, and half-marathons. I hope to someday run a full marathon. I also play guitar, piano, trombone, and was a vocal major in college.
Are you involved in your community?
I am an active member in my church: First United Methodist Church of Rockwall. I also volunteer each year to read in the schools throughout the school year. Another activity I participate in is helping train the local high school students with mock trial competition.
