About Robert
Robert Q. Whitwell is a partner of Farese, Farese & Farese P.A. in Ashland, Mississippi. He received his undergraduate degree from Delta State University in 1968 and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1972. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Mississippi State Bar Association, Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He served as U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi from 1985 to 1993. He served as Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General in Washington, D.C. from 1991-1992. He also served as Municipal Court Judge in Horn Lake, Mississippi from 1975-1985, and served his country in the Mississippi National Guard from 1968-1974.
Mr. Whitwell is the author of "Pre-Emptory Challenges after Bastson v. Kentucky", Mississippi State Bar 1988, Prosecution of Obscenity, 1987; "What Every Good Lawyer Should Know About the Federal Rules of Procedure", Mississippi Trial Lawyers 1989, and "Amendments to the Federal Rules of Procedure", The Mississippi Lawyer 1992. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Civil Litigation Award by U. S. Attorney General, William P. Barr, in March, 1992.
