John has been practicing law in Colorado since 1998. He is the founding member of Eckelberry Law Firm, established in 2006, in charge of the family law and bankruptcy practice for the firm. During his almost 20 years of practice, John has helped hundred of clients achieve personal and financial “fresh starts,” while developing short- and long-term life plans.

I analyze the legal issues, paying attention to the details, and consider the legal and non-legal implications that come into play as a result of any given legal problem. Figuring out what is really going on and what needs to be done about it. Mark Twain said we should believe nothing that we hear and only half of what we see. The point is, the truth is seldom as simple as it first appears. Unfortunately, there is an art and a science to negotiation and telling your side of the story. But, as we are taught in law school (law professors talking to law students): "A man who represents himself has a fool for a client." The fact is, it just comes across better when someone else tells YOUR story for you. Honestly, I enjoy helping clients figure out what to do and how to present their case so that it gets the best outcome.
