About Ron
Ron E. Baze was born on the outskirts of Cleveland, Ohio but spent his childhood in the shadow of the Liberty Bell, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While in his early teens his family moved west where he lived and attended school in Edmond, Oklahoma. It was at this time Ron worked to become a nationally ranked, professional racquetball player. He moved on to the University of Oklahoma and earned his undergraduate degree in journalism with minors in political science and history. Immediately after graduation, Ron worked as a television news anchor, reporter, and producer throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee. He chased tornadoes, covered asbestos contamination within our public schools, and accompanied law enforcement officers on drug interdiction efforts.
After spending seven years both in the field and behind the anchor desk, Ron was accepted to the University of Texas, School of Law and moved with his wife and one year old son to Austin. As his last semester of law school was drawing to a close his second son was born. Upon graduation, Ron was fortunate enough to be accepted by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to work as a Briefing Attorney where he focused much of his efforts on death penalty appeals. Ron returned to Oklahoma to work as General Counsel and Administrator of a local home health agency. For five years he guided the operations of a business with 115 employees and ensured compliance within an industry burdened with significant governmental regulation. He remains licensed to practice law in both Oklahoma and Texas
Ron considers himself fortunate to have been married to his wife, Dawn, for almost twenty years. They are raising two sons, Christopher and Maetison. Ron still struggles to keep in shape by lifting weights and continuing to play racquetball, but he enjoys more leisurely pursuits like the guitar, which he has played for over twenty-five years.
