Mr. Bartholomew, a native of Elk Grove, California, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of California, Davis, in 1968 and his Juris Doctor in 1971 from the same institution. Formerly a partner for 15 years with the law firm of Desmond, Miller, Desmond & Bartholomew, he co-founded the firm of Bartholomew & Wasznicky in 1989. He is a retired captain in the United States Army Reserve and is a licensed real estate broker. In addition to membership in the California Bar, he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Court of Claims. Mr. Bartholomew is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, as well as the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and is certified by the State Bar of California as a Family Law Specialist.

Jelena Tiemann prides herself on being warm and easy to talk to. She strongly believes in getting to know her clients and all the issues they may be facing, whether related to their personal injury case or not. Jelena has extensive knowledge of insurance companies and how to prevent them from limiting a client from a just and fair settlement, and she will spare no expense or effort to ensure that her clients receive maximum recovery. Jelena Tiemann has been working in law firms for close to 15 years and has been licensed as an attorney for over 10 years. Ms. Tiemann completed her undergraduate degree in political science at Sacramento State University. Upon graduation, Jelena attended Lincoln Law School in Sacramento. Jelena has been a member of the California State Bar since 2003. Jelena was born and raised in Serbia. She immigrated to America when she was 17. She began her legal career working as a prosecutor for El Dorado County. After leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Jelena focused her career on representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters, which is now her sole practice area. Her efforts in 2013 alone include a $1.8 million dollar settlement in a wrongful death case, a $1 million dollar settlement in a fractured hip case, an $800,000 settlement in a back injury case and numerous maximum insurance policy limit recoveries on behalf of injured clients. She has helped clients in all types of accident and injury cases, including wrongful death, automobile collisions, slip and falls, and product liability cases.

Jeffrey L. Jacobs has practiced law for over 30 years and has the savvy and advocacy skills found only in attorneys of the highest caliber. While he successfully serves represents clients in personal injury claims, motor vehicle accidents, and sexual harassment cases, much of his caseload involves products liability. A hard-working and confident attorney, Mr. Jacobs is not afraid to take on any adversary. He has represented clients from all over the country against large companies such as General Motors, Toyota, Polaris, Peterbilt, and Graco. While Mr. Jacobs may not be popular with his adversaries, his many clients appreciate his analytical talent and his intimate understanding of the law. Mr. Jacobs' career has given him the opportunity to learn both sides of the law, creating a strong advantage for his clients. He worked in products liability for several years, defending corporate clients in pharmaceutical cases. Mr. Jacobs knows that his unique position contributes greatly to his success as a plaintiff's lawyer. And has given him the perspective to anticipate strategies and act accordingly. He also has the experience of working as an Associate in a large Kansas City law firm, where he was involved in matters such as litigation, securities, business transactions and environmental work. Mr. Jacobs' environmental work gave him the understanding of government agencies and he still maintains a list of many friends and colleagues in the administrative field. Mr. Jacobs came to California in 1988 to work in the aeronautical industry. In order to work for plaintiffs who need skilled and dynamic attorneys, Mr. Jacobs opened what has now become Jacobs Law Group in 1991. Since then, he has developed a fondness for the Sacramento community and its people. John R. Ternieden is a member of our Mass Tort and Fire Litigation practice groups. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, he spent several years working for one of the nation’s largest firms in its complex business and commercial litigation practice. He has successfully represented clients in all stages of litigation, including discovery, prejudgment remedies, dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration, and trial. Mr. Ternieden graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he was involved with the Law Review and, as a member of the National Moot Court Team, represented BYU in New York City, Washington, and Portland. As a law student, he worked on criminal appeals with the Utah Attorney General’s Office and served as a research assistant for several professors. Before attending law school, Mr. Ternieden earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and business management from BYU, graduating in the top of his class. He is currently admitted to practice in both California and Utah state courts as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of California and the District of Utah. Mr. Ternieden enjoys spending his free time in the mountains, on the golf course, and at the local ice rink.

Britt Strottman is a partner in the Sacramento office of Singleton Schreiber and leads the firm’s Public Entity Practice Group, specializing in litigation against corporations for wrongdoing. A seasoned litigator with over 25 years representing state and local governments, as both in-house and outside counsel, and 30 jury trials. After working on the tobacco litigation and subprime mortgage issues as a senior assistant attorney general in Ohio, Britt then represented over 40 California cities and counties in opioid and fire litigation, culminating in a $1 billion settlement with PG&E for the North Bay and Camp Fires. Her knowledge of complex litigation, as well as her ability to resolve eight-, nine-, and ten-figure lawsuits, puts her in a unique class of attorneys. She was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the "Top 100 Lawyers in California," a “Top 20 Under 40” Lawyer, and one of the “Top 100 Women Lawyers”; by The Recorder as a “Giant Slayer”; and by The Best Lawyers in America as one of “Northern California’s Best Lawyers” for successfully representing the city of San Bruno in the high profile gas line explosion and North Bay wildfire cities and counties against Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). Since 2023, Ms. Strottman has provided counsel to the County of Mora, Mora Independent School District, Las Vegas City Schools, and Mora-San Miguel Electric Cooperative, aiding their efforts to recover losses from the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. Leading a team of experts, she developed a damages model to prove over hundreds of millions of dollars in reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), covering various damages such as road and structural damage, operational setbacks, and increased administrative costs. Through strategic advocacy, Ms. Strottman has ensured these public entities receive the necessary support to rebuild and thrive after the tragedy. Ms. Strottman represented the counties of Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake, Yuba, Butte, and Nevada, as well as the cities of Napa, Santa Rosa, Clearlake, and the Town of Paradise, in the deadly 2017 and 2018 wildfires, work that helped secure a $1 billion recovery from PG&E for local governments. She also represented Calaveras County in litigation over a destructive PG&E-caused wildfire, obtaining a $25.4 million recovery for the county. Her work on the San Bruno pipeline explosion, one of the most catastrophic gas line failures in U.S. history, led to a $120 million recovery for the City of San Bruno. The case stemmed from PG&E’s 2010 pipeline rupture that killed eight people, leveled an entire neighborhood, and exposed years of safety failures. Her role helped force accountability and deliver meaningful resources for the community’s long-term rebuilding. Ms. Strottman’s in-house counsel experience includes serving as a Deputy City Attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office, Senior Assistant Attorney General at the Ohio Attorney General's Office, and a Deputy District Attorney at the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office. Ms. Strottman currently serves on the University of San Francisco School of Law’s Board of Counselors. Britt enjoys spending time with her husband, three active kids, and energetic Border Collie and lives in Walnut Creek, CA. Ms. Strottman enjoys reading and has been in the same book club for 25 years.

Matt Huffman is a contract and damages attorney working with Singleton Schreiber’s Litigation Division. As both the son of a volunteer fireman and a victim of fire himself — he saw his childhood home destroyed and his hometown devastated by the Clayton Fire in 2016 — Mr. Huffman is passionate about pursuing justice for his clients. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Huffman was honored with many awards during his military service, including the Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Lifesaver Certification, and the Army Commendation Medal. He is active in the veteran community, serving as a leader in the nonprofit organization Veteran’s Surf Alliance, which provides community and support to former members of the U.S. military as they return to their families and reintegrate into civilian life. He also is active with Veteran's PATH and Team Rubicon. Mr. Huffman earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from California State University, Chico, before graduating from Empire College School of Law. He was a recipient of the Vietnam Veterans of California Scholarship. As a law student, Mr. Huffman volunteered at Legal Aid of Sonoma County under the guidance of former Sonoma County District Attorney, Mike Mullins. He also spent two years as a certified law student in felony criminal defense, researching, writing, and arguing motions under the mentorship of accomplished trial attorney, Barry Melton. His victories included a Governor’s Pardon. Before working with Mr. Melton, Mr. Huffman performed research assignments for personal injury and construction contract attorney, Tim Hannan. In practice, Matt won trials and contested motions in Civil and Criminal court. He's successfully handled around 2400 case with a focus on client attention, and the energetic pursuit of victory, while maintaining integrity. Matt is admitted to practice in California state courts, the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Huffman is a father to two daughters and enjoys surfing, concerts, traveling, and farming his walnut orchard.

Grayson Bowman serves as an Associate Attorney at Singleton Schreiber, where he is part of the Class Action and Mass Torts practice groups in Sacramento. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Bowman began his legal career as an immigration attorney, where he gained valuable experience at a prominent immigration law firm in Dallas, TX, where he managed a diverse caseload involving cases before various immigration agencies such as immigration courts, USCIS, ICE, CBP, NVC, the Department of State, and US embassies and consulates. He successfully represented clients from around the world, handling a wide array of cases, including citizenship and green card applications, as well as representing victims of crimes, special immigrant juveniles, and asylum seekers. His dedication to his clients has allowed him to navigate complex legal challenges effectively, ensuring that his clients receive the representation they deserve. Mr. Bowman earned his Juris Doctor from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he excelled in trial advocacy, becoming a champion in multiple prestigious trial competitions as well as participating on the Moot Court team. During law school, he also volunteered with the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project, where he assisted asylum seekers in preparing for their credible fear interviews. Additionally, Mr. Bowman holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he was recognized with the Ezra Taft Benson Award for his academic excellence. A cinephile and outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Bowman brings the same passion and dedication to his personal interests as he does to his legal practice. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
