About Scott
Scott A. Parsons has actively practiced as a civil trial attorney since 1985. From that time to the present he has devoted his career to civil litigation. Mr. Parsons has been Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney. In addition, he has achieved an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating afforded to an attorney.
Mr. Parsons began working in private practice with the law firm of Bumgardner, Hardin & Ellis, where he concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice, construction litigation and products liability from 1985 to 1990. Thereafter, he became a partner at the firm of Mortenson & Pomeroy and continued practicing civil litigation primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, as well as products liability litigation from 1990 to 1997. Mr. Parsons then co-founded the firm of Parsons & Powell in 1997, which, just three years later became Parsons, Powell & Lane, LLC. From 1997 to 2008 Mr. Parsons obtained a number of multi-million dollar verdicts as well as settlements.
After merging with O'Connor & O'Connor, P.C. in 2008, Mr. Parsons continues to litigate complex personal injury matters, inclusive of medical malpractice, construction litigation and significant auto and products liability matters under the new firm of O'Connor, Parsons & Lane, LLC.
In addition to his practice of law, Mr. Parsons is active in ongoing peer education. He often lectures on behalf of ATLA (American Trial Lawyers Association) in various civil litigation-related areas. Some of these lectures have included issues involving excess coverage in medical malpractice cases, demonstrative evidence and fraudulent record changes in medical malpractice settings.
