About Scott

Scott started Salsbury & Salsbury, LPA after being in private practice for 17 years. Scott previously had been a partner at a boutique health care firm located in Pepper Pike, Ohio and, before that for 14 years, at a large full service law firm based in Akron, Ohio.  In starting the firm, Scott had two basic goals: first, to continue to provide "big firm" service but at a small firm price; second, to consistently provide practical advice achieving effective results.

Scott represents management in labor and employment law, healthcare law, and litigation. His labor practice includes collective bargaining negotiations, the defense of unfair labor practice charges, and grievance arbitration. He defends employers in Unfair Labor Practice hearings and represents clients before the National Labor Relations Board and the United States Courts of Appeals.

Scott's employment practice involves representing employers before the U.S. Equal Employment Commission, the Department of Labor and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. He advises clients on a host of  employment issues ranging from the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, Drug Free Work Place initiatives, to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN).

Scott's professional experience includes the counseling of healthcare systems, physician groups, individual practitioners, and payers on a host of issues such as medical staff credentialing, peer review, and resident discipline, and regulatory compliance issues that include self-referral, anti-kickback, reimbursement, and  HIPAA.

Scott has litigated in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout Ohio. He has tried to jury verdict cases involving areas of law ranging from defamation, tortuous interference with business relations, commercial paper, discrimination to retaliation. Scott has also tried bench trials and injunction actions involving issues that have included construction disputes, commercial real estate covenants, workers compensation retaliation, and non-compete agreements.
