I've been a lifelong resident of the Inland Empire. Although I've been an attorney for over 20 years, I've done nothing but represent injured individuals of the Inland Empire for the past 15 years. Prior to that I served as a Marine Corps Officer where I cut my teeth in the courtroom as a trial lawyer in one of the busiest trial shops in the entire Department of Defense. I've remained an active reservist for over 23 years where I've advised some of the largest commands in the U.S. Marine Corps. In my civilian practice I've represented hundreds of individuals against the largest corporations and governmental institutions in the United States. We care about our fellow Inland Empire residents and take whatever steps necessary to protect our clients rights. We believe that our caring goes beyond the resolution of the case as our clients often refer to our firm as "my lawyers" even after the case has ended. My office brings the full force of some of the finest attorneys in the Inland Empire with the financial wherewithal to undertake even the most complex case.

Scott E. Gwartney graduated from Liberty University in Virginia in 1985 with a degree in political science and human resource management. The Tallahassee native then returned home to attend Florida State University College of Law, graduating in 1991. He has remained in Tallahassee since. After working with the first attorney to successfully submit a nursing home case to verdict in the State of Florida, renowned trial lawyer Kenneth L. Connor, the two went on to create The Connor & Gwartney law firm. The firm eventually joined the Tampa-based nursing home litigation firm of Wilkes & McHugh, becoming its Tallahassee office, where Mr. Gwartney continued to work until he joined Brooks, LeBoeuf, Foster & Gwartney in 2002, becoming a firm partner in 2003. Mr. Gwartney’s practice is unique: While he always carries a significant number of case files for auto claims and medical litigation in his Tallahassee hometown, his expertise in the fields of Medical Malpractice, Assisted Living Facility, Nursing Home and Group Home litigation is widely known throughout Florida and Georgia. And so, he often finds himself pursuing claims in courthouses from Naples and Ft. Meyers, up the Gulf coast to Pensacola, and on the east coast all the way to Savannah and Augusta Georgia … and virtually all points in between. Mr. Gwartney passionately believes that our disabled and senior citizens deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. In the same manner that fine china is treated with a gentle and compassionate touch, our physically frail citizens also need to be treated with a gentle touch and great respect. The fragile among us deserve no less respect and dignity than that which is afforded to any other member of our society. The results of Mr. Gwartney’s experience and efforts on behalf of the elderly speak volumes about his expertise and dedication. His work on behalf of his clients has led to numerous verdicts and settlements of $1 million or more across the southeast. While Mr. Gwartney’s case load is most active throughout Florida and Georgia, he is also licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Scott Mitchell Fischer joined the law offices of Gordon & Partners in 2005 after having spent a number of prior years working as a defense lawyer. Scott is a competitor by nature who is well known for passionately and aggressively advocating for the rights of his clients, including victims of nursing home abuse and neglect, assisted living facility abuse and neglect, hospital negligence, and victims of serious motor vehicle accidents. Scott has an established track record of success. The defense industry is well aware of his abilities and they often settle to avoid facing him in Court. When cases do not settle out of Court before trial, Scott is always well prepared to obtain justice in trial and he has obtained jury verdicts totaling many millions of dollars. In 2019, Scott conducted a three-week jury trial on behalf of a 97-year-old woman who died after suffering a heat stroke at an Assisted Living Facility. The trial resulted in a verdict of $6,000,000 for Scott's client. Below is a video of a news release regarding the $6,000,000 verdict. Scott also recently won a trial against a hospital in a case where Scott's client fell out of the hospital bed and suffered a broken hip. The jury awarded over $900,000 to Scott's client. That trial was televised on the Courtroom View Network and below is a video of Scott's closing argument from that trial. Scott has handled many high-profile cases. Below are videos of recent investigative news reports from Scott’s cases where nursing homes failed to be prepared to handle the coronavirus crisis and failed to properly provide backup power to their facilities after hurricanes hit and shut off the power.
