James V Hill, attorney at Russell & Hill, PLLC, is a lifelong Washingtonian and has spent time calling both sides of the Cascades “home.” Jim has devoted his law practice to helping people obtain the benefits and compensation they deserve, both in personal injury cases as well as social security disability claims. After graduating with academic honors from Seattle University School of Law, Jim went to work at a law firm that provided legal defense for multiple insurance companies. Working as a lawyer for the insurance companies provided valuable experience and insight into how insurance companies do business, how they value claims, and what they look for when litigating a claim against a plaintiff. In 2002, with the knowledge and information he learned to work as an insurance defense attorney, Jim transitioned his legal practice to focus solely on representing injured people against the insurance companies. Jim’s experience working for insurance companies has given him the knowledge to bring a successful claim for injury and the insight to avoid the pitfalls that exist in the settlement and litigation process. Jim has successfully represented thousands of Washingtonians in personal injury claims. In 2005, Jim Hill had a handful of personal injury clients ask him for help with their applications for Social Security Disability benefits. After successfully helping these clients obtain disability benefits, Jim noticed similarities between the two areas of legal practice. In both instances, injured people need help fighting for the compensation that they deserved against entities much larger than an individual – whether the fight was against an insurance company or the federal government. Out of that experience grew a passion to help people with disabilities obtain their rightful benefits. When a physical or mental health condition leaves a person unable to work on a full time, sustained basis, Jim represents the client in all proceedings with the Social Security Administration to get his clients the disability benefits they need and deserve. Most clients have a hearing in front of a federal administrative law judge, and Jim makes sure that his cases are prepared thoroughly and presented in a manner that will best deliver a favorable ruling. Jim Hill continues to be busy with his vibrant and growing law practice at Russell & Hill, PLLC. He splits his time representing hundreds of local people in both personal injury claims and disability claims.

Athena Pearl Riley is a former felony prosecutor, licensed Realtor, and real estate investor. Athena’s extensive trial experience, meticulous attention to case details, and real estate background has made her the go-to attorney for individuals, investors and businesses alike seeking the zealous representation they deserve. Selected to serve as the Chief Justice of her alma mater at the University of New Mexico (UNM), Athena went on to graduate from UNM School of Law, where she was a member of her law school’s nationally ranked mock trial team, winning Regionals and advancing to Nationals. Athena received a number of distinguished honors during law school, including the American Association for Justice Partnership in Advocacy award, the American Board of Trial Advocates mock trial student of the year award, first place honors in the Mediation Competition, advancing to Regionals in the Negotiation Competition, competing in the invitation only National Institute for Trial Advocacy Tournament of Champions, and serving as the President of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Student Association. Athena was subsequently selected to be the National Trial Competition Coach for Golden Gate School of Law in San Francisco, California, where she taught for two years prior to relocating to Northwest Florida. Athena received the 2019 Florida Association for Women Lawyers "Leader in the Law" award and has dedicated her practice to protecting her clients financial and property interests. Community Involvement: Athena is very active in her community, having served on a number of local boards including United Way, Boys & Girls Club and the Healthy Start Coalition. Athena is the founding member of the Okaloosa Florida Association for Women Lawyers (OFAWL), and of Franklin’s Tree House Foundation, where her and her husband have created the “Confident Kids!” program which partners with Children in Crisis, Inc, a non-profit organization serving foster children from Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa and Escambia counties. In her free time, Athena enjoys running, reading, cooking and exploring the white sand beaches and nature trails of the place she now calls home. Christopher J. Finley is the Managing Attorney at Finley Law Firm. He practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust dispute law. Chris is motivated by the proactive nature of estate planning and utilizes strategies to bring peace of mind to his clients and prevent court action. His former practice areas include commercial litigation, real estate law, employment law, contract law, collections, and business organization and administration. He has extensive experience as support for complex commercial and civil litigation matters, including claims in such areas as civil RICO, fraud and fraudulent transfer, real estate, medical malpractice, personal injury, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. Doug Cohen is a partner with Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, LLP. Doug practices in the areas of catastrophic personal injury, products liability, employment, business litigation, and medical malpractice for plaintiffs. Doug has garnered multi-million-dollar awards for personal injury plaintiffs.

Attorney Michelle Reyes, Esq. earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. She is licensed in the State of Florida, the Federal Middle District of Florida, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Federal District of Puerto Rico. She is also an approved FINRA arbitrator. She has more than 15 years of experience in legal areas including immigration, criminal defense, family law, contracts, policy, compliance and regulations. She currently mainly practices immigration law in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Being a licensed attorney is Atty. Reyes' second career. Before law school, she worked as a Vice President in a Fortune 500 company within the financial sector in its global vendor compliance department where she was responsible for contract review and management, regulatory compliance policies, and vendor management for 7 years before she decided to attend law school. While in law school, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC) Law Journal, the President of the International Law Society, and the Secretary of the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA). She was sponsored by the International Academy of Family Lawyers where she spent significant time in the United Kingdom (London and Leeds) and was mentored by high profile international family lawyers. She also worked in immigration law firms, participated in the criminal defense and immigration law clinics, and clerked for a local judge in Huntington, NY. She was also a merit scholar recipient, a Puerto Rico Bar Association scholarship recipient and a Kadane Fellow. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Certificate in International Studies, and Certificate in Cuban Studies from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL as a Bright Futures Scholar and Verizon Scholar. While in university, she studied abroad in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. During her free time, she is involved in local non-profits, including her own, 100xPR or providing services to pro bono immigration organizations. She is a mother to two boys, two rescue dogs (a white German Shepherd and a Chihuahua Dachshund), is a proud wife, is an avid reader and enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle.

Shazia Sparkman is the founder and managing partner where she advocates fiercely and passionately for her clients in all types of family law and complex business litigation matters. Mr. Robertson joined Cohen Garelick & Glazier in May 2005 after practicing in Johnson County, Indiana for several years. Mr. Robertson is a member of the Sagamore American Inn of Court and is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the Indiana Supreme and Appellate Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
