The firm’s principal attorney, Nigel S. Scott, Esquire, began his legal training in the Delaware County Office of the Public Defender, where he represented indigent defendants charged with criminal offenses. Nigel then represented the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. There he continued to hone his trial advocacy skills prosecuting misdemeanors and minor felonies. The combined experience allowed Nigel to gain valuable insight and training with regards to both defending and prosecuting criminal cases in Philadelphia and neighboring jurisdictions. Nigel took the experience, skills, and training he acquired in the criminal courtroom and applied them to civil trials as well, zealously protecting the rights of clients who were injured by the negligence of others. With very little advertising, Nigel has been able to develop a growing practice based largely on the word of mouth referrals of satisfied clients, as well as fellow attorneys familiar with the quality of his work and the depth of his commitment to equal justice. As part of our commitment to equal justice, our firm dedicates a minimum of 50 hours each year to pro bono service, with Mr. Scott being named to the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania’s Pro Bono Honor Roll for each of the past five years. Dennis J. Gruenke, Esq. was selected as Main Line Today’s “Personal Injury Attorney of the Year” in 2007. He is a 1987 graduate of Villanova University, where he double majored in Political Science and History. He received his law degree in 1990 from the University of Maryland, School of Law. He was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 1990 and to the Pennsylvania State Bar in 1991. Mr. Gruenke practices in both state courts and federal courts, and is a member of three local bar associations: Lehigh, Montgomery and Delaware.

A 2008 graduate of the University of Delaware, Mr. Solomon taught high school advanced placement psychology before earning his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2012. As a law student, Mr. Solomon took part in Hofstra’s Mediation Clinic, mediating numerous family law disputes and supervision cases. He was certified to mediate divorce disputes cases and PINS cases in New York. Also while a student, he clerked in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas for the Honorable Annette M. Rizzo. In 2015 Mr. Solomon received his L.L.M in Trial Advocacy from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He focuses his practice on personal injury matters, as well as leads Dion, Solomon & Shapiro’s Landlord-Tenant Litigation Department representing both landlords and tenants in disputes. Matthew also volunteers with Philadelphia VIP, conducting pro bono representation of homeowners in mortgage foreclosure disputes. Mr. Solomon is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court of New Jersey. He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, American Association of Justice, and the New Jersey State Bar Association. Outside the courtroom, Matthew is an active cyclist who participates in numerous long-distance charity rides, as well as in fund-raising campaigns for non-profits including the American Cancer Society, LiveStrong Foundation, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Since college, he has raised more than ten thousand dollars for these charitable organizations, most recently completing his second 100-mile ride for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I then resumed my career with the U.S. Army in the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). I retired from the Army in 2014 after 25 years of service. During my Army career I had the opportunity to prosecute and defend soldiers in cases worldwide. My career included deployments to Europe with the 1st Armored Division, and the Middle East, with the 1st Infantry Division. It is not my practice to take on a high volume of cases and plead them out as quickly as possible. I also don't refuse cases because they are hard. Lots of lawyers cherry pick cases so that they can build stats. I don't keep stats - I represent individuals and everyone's case is different. He is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), and a number of bar associations, including Northeast Texas, Gregg County, Smith County, and Harrison County. Mr. Goolsby is also active in his community, including in the United Way and Junior Achievement, and he serves on the boards of area foundations, schools, and his church. Mr. Goolsby resides in Longview, Texas, with his wife and their two children.

Chris Cagle is an experienced trial attorney and personal injury lawyer. Mr. Petri has been a long-time resident of Indiana. He attended high school in Hammond, Indiana. He later attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, after which he served several years in the U.S. Governmental Service. His experiences in the service inspired him to enroll in law school, and the skills he gained during his service were an invaluable foundation for the practice of law. He graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 1966, and was immediately elected Prosecuting Attorney for Owen County. He served as Prosecuting Attorney until 1974. Since 1974, Mr. Petri has owned and operated his own legal practice, known today as Vernon J. Petri & Associates. Mr. Petri has significant professional and leadership experience. He has served a term as President to the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Association, as well as several years on the organization’s board of directors. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Lastly, he has served on the National Board of Directors of the Breast Implant Litigation Group of the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Petri has been named to the Million Dollar Forum, which is exclusively reserved for attorneys who earn verdicts and settlements in excess of $1,000,000. Even in the face of adversity, he has consistently obtained favorable verdicts for his clients.
