Elizabeth Afriyie is a California-licensed attorney, a litigator, and an MBA. Rob grew up the son of a renowned San Jose injury lawyer, Bob Bohn, so he has been around the law his entire life. In college, Rob was a psychology major initially planning to practice as a clinical psychologist. It was there that he learned what would eventually be critical information in understanding people who have suffered trauma and studying the brain's structures and function. As he neared graduation, Rob realized he could do more good by becoming a trial lawyer. So, off to law school he went. After earning his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1995, Rob took the California state bar and passed the first try, even being invited to return to grade the exam for future examinees. He then embarked on his journey helping people who needed the most help by caring for and representing people with serious life-changing injuries and families of those killed by others. Through the years, Rob has lectured to lawyers and paralegals about brain injury, jury selection and how to handle various kinds of injury claims. He has held leadership positions in local and state trial lawyer organizations and been recognized for his excellent results and service to his clients and, more generally, to the people of California. Mr. Math, is originally from New York and after having served in the U.S. Navy relocated to Los Angeles where he attended California State University at Los Angeles, graduating in 1968. Mr. Math subsequently attended and graduated from Loyola University, School of Law. While attending he was, as a result of his having excelled in Moot Court Competition and Legal Writing, awarded a Teaching Fellowship. Mr. Math graduated from Loyola University in 1972 afterwhich he attended UCLA, Institute of Industrial Relations under a grant of the U.S. Department of Labor and was trained as an Arbitrator. Mr. Math has served as a Mediator, Arbitrator and Judge pro tem. Our firm is composed of experienced attorneys and associates with over 70 years of cumulative experience in many aspects of the law. Chris Pence is a native of South Charleston, West Virginia and a graduate of Marshall University and the West Virginia University College of Law. In his practice, Mr. Pence focuses on litigation, where he has represented individuals and companies throughout the United States. He has significant experience defending coal operators and other mining companies in civil litigation and administrative proceedings pending before the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission and the West Virginia Board of Appeals. In this capacity, he defends citations issued by the Mine, Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) and West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health, Safety & Training (WVOMHST). He also responds to accidents and represents clients in connection with investigations conducted by the various enforcement agencies. In addition to his work for the mining industry, Mr. Pence has also represented clients in cases alleging professional negligence, insurance coverage disputes, commercial contract disputes, auto accidents, premises liability and other personal injury actions. Mr. Pence has also represented victims of industrial accidents and their families, including the estate of a man who received fatal injuries as a result of an explosion at a natural gas liquids storage site. He has also represented individuals in actions against medical providers under the West Virginia Medical Professional Liability Act, as well as employees in claims against their employers for wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act, among other things.
