Philip M. Bluestein is the owner and founder of Rocky Mountain Law Firm. Our firm has two divisions; Rocky Mountain Healthcare Law and Rocky Mountain Wills and Trusts. We also work with a variety of clients to address their estate planning needs. This includes basic Wills, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directives, Guardian Designations, and other documents, to Revocable Trusts (also referred to as Living Trusts), to more complex trust planning and Asset Protection trusts and strategies. Philip founded Rocky Mountain Law Firm (formerly the Bluestein Law Firm) in 1995 while living in Ohio. In 2000 he and his family relocated to Colorado. Upon graduating from law school, Philip practiced for a year and a half in one of the oldest firms in Cincinnati, Ohio that focused on estate planning, litigation and real estate. He started his own firm in 1995 focusing on Civil and Criminal Litigation, Business Law, and Estate Planning. While in Cincinnati, his now ex-wife was a surgeon still in training. Over time Philip found that many medical professionals that he or his then wife knew began asking him questions related to contracts, careers, and practices. He realized there was a definite need he could address and developed his practice to help healthcare professionals. When his then wife completed her training, they moved to Colorado where he helped her set up and run her medical and surgical practice, as well as restarting his law practice with a focus on healthcare professionals and practices. Philip grew up in the Midwest. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government with a minor in History from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, he obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. From 1995 to 2003 he served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the US Army Reserves, where he assisted soldiers with estate planning and other assistance to meet their requirements prior to being deployed. He also represented soldiers in military separation boards and served as the Claims Officer for the 9th LSO, 88th RSC. He completed eight years of service rising to the rank of Captain. Philip is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Boulder County Bar Association, where he served as the co-chair of the Business Law Section for two years. He is licensed in Colorado and Ohio. At the office, Philip is always glad to introduce clients to our golden retrievers Sadie and Zev, the office dogs. He is remarried and has two sons in college, Solomon and Isaac, and loves to spend time with his family. He also enjoys cycling, skiing, camping, and hiking.

Jacqueline Ferris MacLaren serves Columbus and the central Ohio residents with estate planning, estate and probate administration, wills and trusts, equine law, small business law, and real estate property law. Jacqueline began her legal career at the Franklin County Municipal Court as a law clerk. At the Franklin County Municipal Court, Jacqueline worked closely with the magistrates and judges while researching and drafting opinions on legal issues before the court. Jacqueline enjoys working with families and educating individuals on the estate planning process. Jacqueline’s personal time is spent with her family and horses. Jacqueline was born and raised with Arabian horses and continues to actively participate on the local, regional and national levels with the Arabian Horse Association and the National Show Horse Registry. Jacqueline’s career highlight to-date came in 2009, when she and her Half-Arabian gelding, Great Days of Honor, went U.S. Arabian and Half-Arabian National Champion in Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure Maturity Horse. In addition to showing, Jacqueline and her family continue to breed and raise Arabian and Half-Arabian horses in Johnstown, Ohio. Adam earned his Juris Doctor at Fordham University School of Law, where he was Notes and Articles Editor for the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law. Additionally, Adam was selected as teacher’s assistant and student coordinator of a research team to publish a treatise on International Law. After law school, he received his Master of Laws in Taxation, with a focus on Trusts and Estates, from New York University School of Law in 2008, where he was elected to be Director of the NYU Law & Business Association and volunteered as a mediator in the NYU Mediation Clinic. While in law school, Mr. Marks graded on to the Law Review and served as the Symposium Editor. Mr. Marks practiced law in Virginia and Washington, D.C. Mr. Marks began his legal career in Washington, DC and McLean, Virginia with the law firm of Shaw Pittman, LLP where he practiced in the emerging companies and commercial real estate practice groups.
