Ian was born on a public holiday- Veteran’s Day, November 11, 1977 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, New York to loving parents, Wendy and Warren who went on to have another son Jason, who is a successful Cantor in Northern Virginia. Since Veteran’s Day was a public holiday, Ian enjoyed public school closures throughout his early years and has extended that tradition into his Firm, making Veteran’s Day his Firm’s first recognized holiday. Ian learned from his early years. That fighting through physical altercation or violence was unacceptable. Rather, Ian fought through using his words, for words yielded an insurmountable amount of power which violence could never achieve. Underneath Ian’s sarcastic, strong and serious exterior is a thoughtful and compassionate man who vigorously fights for those who find themselves incapable of using words, or articulating messages in furtherance of their cause or in their defense. For Ian, there is no separation between personal and professional life as an attorney’s job is a 24/7 undertaking. You can always expect from Ian an insightful and razor-sharp approach to any obstacle preventing a path forward. In 1989 Mr. Dervishi obtained his law degree from Tirana University School of Law. Mr. Dervishi worked as a special agent of the General Investigations Office with his office in Tirana. In 1994 he was elected as the Deputy Attorney General by the Albanian Parliament. He served as the Deputy Attorney General of Albania from 1994 to 1998. In 1998 he immigrated to United States. His family arrived in the U.S. within a few months. Upon his arrival in Washington D.C., he met with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives since his trip was sponsored by the U.S. government. Beginning in 2003, he began to attend Pace University School of Law and graduated with a Master of Law degree in May, 2004. He is now admitted to the New York State Bar and practices law in all courts in our state.

Mr. Bruce’s legal career has focused on criminal litigation. For 37 years, Mr. Bruce worked as Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York. During this time, he was Chief of the Organized Crime and the National Security Divisions of the office and served as Senior Litigation Counsel before retiring in 2016. He has extensive experience in investigations, trials of complex criminal cases, including RICO, tax, mail and wire fraud, false statements, perjury, and narcotics cases in United States District Court, and in appeals to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Over the last 20 years of Mr. Bruce’s career in the United States Attorney’s Office, he served as an Office Evaluator for the Executive Office for the United States Attorney’s Office, participating, as a member of a teams of seasoned Assistant United States Attorneys, in peer evaluations of United States Attorneys’ Offices throughout the United States. In 1998, Mr. Bruce took a temporary assignment as the Resident Legal Advisor in the United States Embassy in Moscow, where he was the liaison between Department of Justice Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training and the Russian Procurator’s Office to set up and run training by U.S. prosecutors and law enforcement agents for their Russian counterparts. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Bruce also handled a complex ethics and misconduct investigation which involved an exhaustive review of two large scale narcotics prosecutions from another U.S. Attorney’s Office to determine if the lead Assistant United States Attorney in those cases had committed any violations of the law, acts of prosecutorial misconduct or ethical violations and prepared a report that was submitted to the Office of Professional Responsibility within the Executive Office for United States Attorneys. For four years prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Bruce worked with the Internal Revenue Service Office of District Counsel. During this time, he acted as in-house counsel to the Buffalo Internal Revenue District on tax examinations, collection matters and in ongoing criminal investigations. He reviewed results of criminal tax investigations to determine if they were factually and legally sufficient to be referred to the Department of Justice for prosecution. He also tried and briefed cases in the United States Tax Court. Since 1996, Mr. Bruce has also been an Adjunct Professor at the SUNY Buffalo School of Law. Since leaving government service, Mr. Bruce has become a member of the Erie County Bar Association Grievance Committee where he has been called on to review allegations of ethical violations by criminal defense attorneys. He has also been an on-air commentator for WGRZ, Channel 2, and WBEN Radio., providing commentary and insight on high-profile federal prosecutions.

Leslie focuses her advocacy on student disciplinary processes, specifically at the college administrative level. This includes advisement in university conduct proceedings from investigations through appeals; academic misconduct accusations; Title IX cases; student organization defense; and specific hazing education and risk management advice for Greek organizations, sports teams, and clubs. Prior to starting Albeit Masters, LLC, Leslie co-founded and grew an education specific law firm for almost a decade, practiced as defense counsel to a prominent Columbus insurance litigation firm, and served as a defense attorney on criminal and traffic matters, gaining valuable litigation and courtroom experience.

Subsequently, as a defense attorney, he took the appeal of a client sentenced to death and convinced the prosecutor to vacate the death sentence. He used forensic tire print evidence to prove another client not guilty of attempted murder. In yet another case he uncovered evidence which reduced the offer on a robbery case from 25–50 years down to 2 years probation. He represented one individual charged with 3 separate charges of DUI and had the first case dismissed at the Preliminary Hearing, the second accepted into the A.R.D. program, and the third case dismissed after a trial judge granted suppression of all evidence in the case. Mr. Fairlie has obtained not-guilty verdicts in major jury trials involving shootings, burglaries, rape, etc. despite positive eyewitness identifications of his clients. On appeal, he has successfully argued for reversal of a death sentence in one case and a sentence of 70 years in another case. Recent successful plea negotiations include 2 1/2 to 5 years in the case of a man who struck his wife in the head with a hammer and strangled her and 6 to 12 years in a First Degree Murder case. Mr. Fairlie went to trial on a case involving more than $50 million of land transactions and settled the case in the second week of trial. He has obtained six-figure settlements in numerous personal injury cases, including car accident, back injury, and dog bite cases. Mr. Fairlie often serves as a speaker or course planner for various organizations such as the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s Annual (2007–2025) Criminal Law Symposium in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Montgomery and Bucks County Bar Associations, and various law enforcement training programs. He also teaches numerous other continuing legal education seminars for lawyers every year.
