STEPHEN V. SOMMERS (licensed in Virginia 1999, Texas (1997), Maryland (1996)), was born at Camp Pendleton, CA, October 4, 1956 and educated at Troy State University (B.S., Summa Cum Laude, 1981), Golden Gate University (M.A., 1986) and American University (Juris Doctor, 1995). Mr. Sommers retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of Major after 22 years flying fighter aircraft. Mr. Sommers has been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Fourth Circuit and the Tenth Circuit and all Virginia Courts. He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Virginia Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Aviation Section of the Texas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association, as well as each state’s Bar Association he is licensed in. I am Jeff to those who know me, and for over the past sixteen years, my primary focus and areas of practice have been in the Child Welfare, Dependency & Neglected areas as well as Termination of Parental Rights/Adoptions. I have a small law office that is nothing short of a true family business. My Office Manager is Donna who also happens to be my wife and mother of our six children, four original now grown, and the two that she has re-nested our home with. We have seven grandchildren with the youngest currently in our legal custody and residing with us. She keeps things running smoothly in the office while I am out doing what I do best every day and that is to help children and families, spending most of my time in the courthouse, or at the Department of Children's Services (DCS) office in Child & Family Team Meetings (CFTMs), or on school or home visits, pre-COVID of course now spend a lot of time on conference calls or Zoom, whether for meetings or court appearances! I retired from the US Navy in 2000 after completing twenty years of service as an Aviation Electronics Technician First Class (Air Warfare Specialist) specializing in the calibration of test equipment. Giving Donna the option of relocating anywhere in the country from our home in Jacksonville, Florida she chose the hills of East Tennessee, where we have enjoyed living. After retiring at the age of 37 1/2 having earned my undergraduate degree while on active duty, I used my GI Bill benefits to attend Law School at the University of Georgia, beginning my law studies less than a month before the fateful September 11, 2001 attacks. I practice litigation primarily in Sevier County, although I have had cases in Blount, Jefferson, Cocke, Knox, Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Greene, Washington, and Anderson counties. When it comes to adoptions I travel anywhere in the East Tennessee area since they usually only require one court appearance and are easier to schedule than a contested matter. There is no greater joy for us than assisting a child reach permanency through adoption with a forever family. Donna and I have been foster and adoptive parents since 2005 and that has given us the unique perspective in helping our clients navigate the complicated and oft-times confusing and ever-changing child welfare system. We truly understand the frustrations of this system first hand and personally and from every angle - short of being a DCS attorney. Even our two youngest children are part of the business and are often seen helping mom with filing papers and visiting their "friends" at the courthouse, or picking out the stuffed animal keepsake that Donna embroideries on for every child we do an adoption for. Their favorite part of our practice without a doubt is attending some of the adoptions we've been blessed to help finalize and seeing children like themselves become a permanent part of a forever home.

Mr. Levy has been practicing law for more than thirty years. He received his law degree from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the Tennessee Law Review. Mr. Levy also graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Marketing and was chosen as the most outstanding senior major in Marketing. Mr. Levy is married and the father of two daughters. His community activities include serving as a founding board member of the Dream Connection, Inc., an organization that helps fulfill dreams” of children who have life-threatening illnesses. Since its foundation in 1985, the Dream Connection has fulfilled the dreams of hundreds of children in East Tennessee. Mr. Levy has previously served as president and treasurer of the Dream Connection. He currently serves as a co-treasurer. He also has served two terms as president of Fox Den Country Club. He is a member of the Farragut Rotary Club and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. For many years, Mr. Levy served as the chairman of the Rotary Foundation Committee for his local club. Mr. Levy has been a licensed pilot since 1976 and has handled several aviation litigation cases. Mr. Levy has served as a volunteer ombudsman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). In that role, Mr. Levy assisted Guard and Reserve members to ensure that they were treated fairly by their employers when their military obligations interfered with their civil employment. In order to become an ombudsman, it is necessary for an attorney to attend classes sponsored by the National Committee for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

Mr. Sutter has been in aviation for over thirty years and has been practicing law for over 25 years. He has represented numerous airmen against the FAA, airlines, and charter operators. His primary background has been in the field of the ADA and employment law. He pioneered the early developments of the ADA and the FMLA eventually arguing one of the first FMLA cases before the United States Supreme Court. He is a zealous advocate of his clients who refuses to bow to the demands of corporate America.

Shaun Willis, along with his brother Michael, is a co-founder and Partner of Willis Law. Willis Law has offices in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Paw Paw. For more than 14 years, Mr. Willis has focused on assisting clients in litigation, with emphasis on business, real estate, and construction litigation. He and his wife, Corrina Maria Willis, are involved in the Kalamazoo community, attend Valley Family Church, and Corrina is Past President of the Lawyers Auxiliary Board. They have three daughters, Maria, Francesca, and Lucy and three sons, Patrick, Christopher, and Walter.
