Christopher E. Sawin is Founder and Principle Attorney of Sawin Law, P.C., where he concentrates his practice in family law, probate, estate planning, and veterans’ law. His practice includes the representation of individuals in some of the most difficult of life’s transitions, including divorce, paternity actions, modification of agreement and judgements, custody disputes, prenuptial agreements, enforcement proceedings, restraining orders, estate disputes, discharge upgrades, and military disability appeals. Casey of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court and also represented indigent families through his participation of the Suffolk Family Advocacy Clinic in a variety of issues in the Greater Boston area. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sawin served in the United States Marine Corps where he deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and aboard the USS Iwo Jima with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. He currently volunteers a portion of his legal services to indigent military veterans and their families with the unique legal challenges they face before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and with state law issues.

Mr. Phillips joined The Worthington Law Centre in 1995 after graduating from Monterey College of Law. He currently handles an active case load of misdemeanor and felony cases, both adult and juvenile, with additional work in administrative law issues stemming from criminal charges before the Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Social Services, and the California Labor Board. Mr. Phillips routinely handles cases in the courts of Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties, and the Federal District Court for Northern California, San Jose. Mr. Phillips is an integral part of the defense team at The Worthington Law Centre. In addition to handling his own case load, he works closely with Mr. Worthington on all of Mr. Worthington's major felony cases, focusing on the legal research, writing, and strategy that is essential to the successful conclusion of complex cases. Mr. Phillips is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the California Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Monterey County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Bar of the United States District Court for Northern California. He is also a member of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and California Public Defender's Association. Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Phillips had a long and distinguished career in the United States Army. He was a Commissioned Officer from 1972 to 1992 with assignments in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. He held positions of increasing responsibility over a 20 year career as a combat arms officer, with a secondary specialty as a Foreign Area Officer (Latin America). He held a Top Secret clearance throughout service. Mr. Phillips helped author a number of security plans and contingency plans used at the national level during wartime. His final assignment was as Associate Dean, Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Phillips was commissioned as a Major. During his career transition, Mr. Phillips taught elementary school in bilingual (English-Spanish) classrooms in Salinas. Mr. Phillips holds a J.D. degree from Monterey College of Law; a Master of Arts Degree, Management from Webster University, St. Louis, MO; and a Bachelor of Science Degree, National Security and Public Affairs from U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY. In addition to his career as a trial attorney, Mr. Phillips has served as Commissioner pro tempore in the Marina and King City courts for traffic, truancy, and small claims matters. He served as prosecutor in U.S. Magistrate's Court at Fort Ord for approximately 18 months while still in the U.S. Army. He has handled Pro bono cases in the Superior Court of Monterey County. Mr. Phillips has lived in Monterey County for the past 14 years.

Kathy has been practicing law since 1992, and is the founder of Kathy S. Williams P.L.L.C. Born to a military U.S. family in Okinawa, Japan, she grew up as the second child in a household with three brothers.She graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in 1987. While she was there, she gained a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserves.She then went on to law school at Wake Forest School of Law in Winston-Salem, NC. After a one-year interruption in her studies for active duty service in Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990-1991, she graduated from Wake Forest School of Law in 1992. She was licensed as an attorney in August 1992.After a Position as Assistant Public Defender in Gastonia, she moved to Durham in 1994, and served as an Assistant Public Defender here for two years. She then left the Public Defender's office to open the Law Office of Kathy Williams in April of 1996. Also in 1996, she resigned from the Army Reserves after serving nine years on active duty and in the Reserves, and having attained the rank of Captain.In the summer of 1999, she married Thurman Richardson, Jr. and changed her name from Kathy S. Williams to Kathy Williams Richardson.

Sylvan was born in San Antonio, Texas, and has lived most of his life in South and Central Texas. He received his undergraduate degree in History, with Special Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986, and obtained his law degree from the Southern Methodist University Deadman College of Law in 1989, graduating Cum Laude and Order of the Coif. During law school, Sylvan served as the Assistant Editor in Chief of the Southwestern Law Journal. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1989, and is licensed to practice law in the state courts in Texas, as well as the United States District Courts in the Western, Southern and Northern Districts of Texas. Sylvan is also licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Sylvan's legal career has been both rewarding and multi-faceted. After law school, from 1989 to 1990, Sylvan had the unique opportunity to serve as law clerk to the Honorable Edith Hollan Jones, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Thereafter, Sylvan returned to San Antonio as an associate at Plunkett, Gibson and Allen from 1990 to 1994, practicing insurance defense and handling cases in the areas of personal injury, automobile accident, product liability, insurance, medical malpractice, and legal malpractice, from the defense perspective. From 1994 to 1996, Sylvan chose a new and challenging experience, following his wife, Amy, to Dallas while she completed her medical fellowship. During this time, Sylvan sought and obtained a unique and completely different experience-serving the under-represented poor at Legal Services of North Texas (civil legal aid). After practicing law at legal aid, Sylvan knew he could never work for insurance companies again. Upon returning to San Antonio, Sylvan co-founded Lang & Kustoff LLP in 1996, focusing one hundred percent of his practice on representing clients with claims related to insurance, construction matters, personal injury, and employment law. In 2008, Sylvan founded Lang Law Firm, P.C., where he continues the same focus of trial work, delivering personalized, client-focused results in an ever-changing world. Sylvan cherishes recreational time with his wonderful family, wife and two daughters. He has devoted over a decade of Board service and leadership to both Temple Beth-El and Saint Mary's Hall. Jonathan Breeden is a successful family law lawyer in Garner, North Carolina. He graduated from NC State with a political science degree in just three years, and went on to spend time working in the North Carolina General Assembly and learning the inner workings of government before attending Campbell University School of Law. He chose Campbell because of the practical legal education offered, including courses in how to practice in North Carolina district courts, where the bulk of legal business is conducted, and how to start a law practice. While in law school, he interned with the District Attorney offices in Scotland and Hoke counties, where he gained valuable experience in how criminal cases are handled. He also studied law abroad in London, England through a summer program and learned the value of living and studying in another country and culture. Attorney Dana W. Duncan is a native Wisconsinite, whose family has lived in the State since the 1840s. He comes from a family of hard-working people – his grandparents were dairy farmers and his parents were factory workers. He grew up understanding hard work and earning a paycheck. Attorney Duncan has experience and understanding of what clients are going through – his mother was a diabetic who went blind due to retinopathy in her 40s. He watched her cry over having to quit the job she loved. He also looked on as his father fought an insurance company over a back injury and then fought the Veteran’s Administration to give him his VA rating. Next, his father had to fight Social Security to give him disability benefits when his military injuries and age forced him to quit working later in life. These events profoundly changed him and changed his views about disability and workers’ compensation. He has built his career to assist those who need his aid.
