Carl G. Zoecklein, graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1989, passed the New Jersey Bar in 1990 and became a licensed Attorney in the State of New Jersey. He has maintained his own law office as a solo practitioner since that time, having had offices at 688 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ; 642 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ; and 737 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ where his current practice has been located since 2002. He primarily focused upon Real Estate Closings- residential and commercial- to include purchases, sale and refinances. Today his practice has evolved to include DWI/DUI, Criminal, Municipal Court, Expungements, Divorce, Loan Modifications, Landlord Tenant, Civil Law, as well as the Real Estate Closings. Zoecklein, was continuously employed by the City of Clifton, New Jersey, as a Police Officer, from June 2, 1975 to April 30, 2002, in various assignments and ranks. While so employed, he attended many specialized law enforcement training courses which focused upon the enforcement of Narcotics Laws as well as other areas of investigation. In addition to classroom type education, he also received "hands on" type job experience and training while so employed by the City of Clifton while working with other police agencies to include: The New Jersey State Police Narcotic Units; The New Jersey Attorney Generals Office; The Passaic County Prosecutors Office Narcotic Task Force; The Bergen County Narcotic Task Force; The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Unit, The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Unit, The Passaic County Prosecutors' Office Organized Crime unit, The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A.); as well as local area narcotic units, to include primarily the Cities of Garfield, Paterson and Passaic.

Upon graduation from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York, classmates Evan N. Pickus and Howard S. Landsberg sought to fulfill a vision- the formation of their own law firm. Originally intending to concentrate in the areas of tax and estates, Mr. Pickus opened his office in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and Mr. Landsberg opened his office in Long Island, New York, with the intention of working together to serve the needs of residents of the respective areas. Having a prior background in accounting, Mr. Landsberg felt after a period of time that his aspirations could be better fulfilled in the area of taxation and advisory accountancy. He, therefore, left the practice and went on to a very successful career in those areas. With his practice already established in New Jersey, Mr. Pickus decided to maintain the firm and has continued practicing under the Pickus & Landsberg name since 1994. Circumstances often dictate the direction of business. Contacts and clients needing real estate services tended to gravitate to the firm, and Mr. Pickus found his niche in the area of real estate law. Over the past twenty-five years, however, real estate clients developed other needs, requiring the firm to expand its areas of practice. We currently serve our clients, not only with real estate matters but in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, corporate matters, civil litigation, and estate planning. We have two goals in our practice. The first is to be a true “family practice” – to have the ability, in most situations, to serve the legal needs of our clients. I was a staff attorney with the housing unit at Northeast New Jersey Legal Services. I provided assistance to people with evictions, utility issues, illegal lockouts, ejectments, debt collections related to housing and foreclosures. I am interested in practicing in more legal areas such as immigration law, employment law, labor law, education law, white collar crimes, civil rights and wills. I am open to learn more areas of law and get involved in more complex litigation to continued to develop my skills as an attorney. I have a particular interest in prosecuting white collar crime because many people in the corporate world get away with crimes that have a massive impact on the world. One example is pyramid schemes that are passing off as multi level marketing.

Karl joined the Firm in 2004. He has published articles and has given numerous ICLE lectures in his short tenure. His areas of expertise include Creditor/Debtor's Rights, Bankruptcy, Guardianships, Foreclosure Law, Civil Litigation, Real Estate/Real Property and out of court workouts. He has extensive experience handling all aspects of debtor/creditor's rights, both in the New Jersey State and Federal Courts. In addition to prosecuting foreclosure cases for both private as well institutional lenders, he has also handled many contested foreclosures for Debtors, which often results in loan modifications and/or forbearance agreements and Deeds in Lieu of foreclosure. Mr. Norgaard effectively and efficiently resolves disputes between the parties with a common sense approach of analyzing the client's legal exposure and rights while always seeking to find an amicable resolution as soon as possible in an effort to curtail needless litigation.

Kenneth Psota graduated cum laude from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, PA, and is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Political Science from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Psota worked as a congressional intern and was a newspaper reporter for several papers in Bergen County, NJ. While at Widener, Kenneth Psota served as a Senior Staff member of the Widener Law Review and was published on several occasions. Since graduating from law school, Mr. Psota has worked for litigation firms in Bergen County and Cape May County.
