About Sherri

Sherri L. Thornton-Pierce is a seasoned trial lawyer, presently focusing her practice on complex public and private business concerns, with an emphasis on constitutional issues, employment and labor law, SBE/DBE/MWBE procurement matters, state and county government gaming law issues, and all manner of public and private organizational  concerns. She has over 20 years of civil trial and appellate experience as a U.S. Department of Justice trial attorney, an Assistant U.S. Attorney (Chicago), and as a supervisory (litigation) associate general counsel for the Board of Education of the City of Chicago.

Over the course of her career, Sherri has tried jury and non-jury cases in federal courts nationwide and has argued appellate cases in various jurisdictions on a variety of issues.

Sherri received her B.A. from Rutgers University and her J.D., with high honors, from Howard University School of Law.
