About Stanton

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Stan entered a crossroad in his life as a student of the University of Washington, deciding what career to pursue.  Although he excelled in math, engineering and foreign languages, working in those fields would not give him what he most wanted in life, namely, the satisfaction of working with people and solving their needs.  Toward the end of his undergraduate studies he decided to embark on a legal career, which he concluded would address those interests.  Following graduation at Boalt Law School, University of California at Berkeley, in 1967 he cut his teeth in the legal profession by acting as plaintiff, defense and administrative counsel in the Marine Corps, including a tour of Vietnam.

Upon release from military service, Stan returned to the roots of his life in Seattle to continue the practice of law.  After a brief stint with a medium size law firm and progressing as a member of his own law firm, Stan became a sole practitioner, learning the business side of law while assisting clients in the areas of personal injury, domestic relations, business and real estate, estate planning and probate.  After 30 years of a successful solo practice, Stan decided to lend his skills to an established law firm while continuing to work with clients he assisted over the past 30 years.  In following this decision, Stan joined the family of Magnuson Lowell, P.S. as Of Counsel, and he looks forward to a very fulfilling and satisfying career in that capacity.

Stan and his wife of 30 years, a paralegal professional in probate, have two children who are currently embarked on careers of their own.  Stan has never regretted his decision to return to the Pacific Northwest, enabling him to combine his legal career with his love of outdoor sports, including skiing, golf and tennis.  Over the years he has given back to the community by acting on the board of a local Boys & Girls Club and participating as a member of Rotary.  For over 33 years he has been a violinist with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, which provides an outlet for the challenge of law.
