As a Senior Associate Attorney at The Colwell Law Group, LLC, Stephanie L. Hanrahan works directly with the firm’s clients, providing best-in-class legal representation and counsel. Ms. Hanrahan, who is based in The Colwell Law Group, LLC’s Syracuse regional office, came to the firm with significant litigation experience in both the private and public sectors.

Previously, Ms. Hanrahan worked at the Chenango County Public Defender’s Office, where she represented clients in Family Court and defended clients against charges that ranged from low level violations to Class A violent felonies. Ms. Hanrahan’s dedicated and skilled legal representation of indigent clients resulted in her promotion to First Assistant Public Defender for Chenango County. Ms. Hanrahan also worked as an Associate at a law firm in Central New York where she specialized in criminal and family law matters and represented clients in real estate and general litigation cases. In addition to being a Senior Associate for the Colwell Law Group, LLC, Ms. Hanrahan currently serves both as City Attorney for Norwich, New York and Assistant County Attorney for Chenango County.
Ms. Hanrahan is the Vice President of the DelChenO chapter of the Women’s Bar Association, and is a member of the Chenango County Bar Association.
Ms. Hanrahan graduated from Syracuse University College of Law, where she was a Pro Bono Scholar. As a testament to her stellar work ethic, Ms. Hanrahan worked during her entire final year of law school; she also took the bar examination early. Ms. Hanrahan graduated cum laude from Binghamton University, with her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Ms. Hanrahan is admitted to practice in New York State Courts. Ms. Hanrahan’s interests include reading and hiking.
