About Stephen
I was born in Syracuse and I attended Westhill High School where I graduated at the very top of my class. I won a four year academic scholarship to Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. After I graduated from LeMoyne College I attended the University of Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, Indiana.
While at Notre Dame I won the Moot Court Competition. After I graduated from law school I went to work for the Los Angeles office of a Wall Street law firm. At this law firm I was able to put into practice the many legal skills for preserving my clients rights that I had learned in law school. While I worked at this firm I handled the defense of cases on behalf of major corporations. I argued cases in the California Superior and Municipal Courts. I also wrote appellate briefs and orally argued an appeal in the California Court of Appeals.
I returned to Syracuse, New York and started my own Elder Law practice in Camillus, New York. For more than twelve years I have successfully represented many families before the local county Medicaid offices in Onondaga County, Oswego County, Oneida County and many other counties in New York State. When these families were faced with the prospect of losing all of the family assets because a loved one entered a nursing home, I was able to preserve the maximum amount of the family assets while at the same time qualifying the family for Medicaid.
When you telephone my law firm you will be able to speak to me personally about your case. I do this because I want to associate freely with my clients and I want my clients to feel at ease in contacting me and talking to me personally. I think everyone feels better with this approach and I also believe that it offers the best possible chance for the exchange of information essential to a client's case. I offer a free initial consultation so that you can better learn about your legal rights. If you are unable to see me during the day, I will make myself available for evening appointments so I can meet you and your family.
