About Susan
Susan Rawls Edwards is a member of the Firm where her primary focus is in the area of general litigation and insurance defense. She also represents clients in domestic Matters.
Ms. Edwards received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and received her Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law in North Carolina.
Ms. Edwards practiced law with a large corporate defense firm prior to forming Gaffney Lewis & Edwards, LLC. Ms. Edwards has represented companies in complex business disputes, including antitrust class action litigation. She has defended companies involved in employment disputes, including sexual harassment and racial discrimination. Prior to joining the corporate defense firm, Ms. Edwards practiced with a firm in which she represented state governmental entities in discrimination disputes through the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund.
Ms. Edwards represents clients in domestic matters such as divorce, custody, visitation, prenuptial agreements and step parent adoptions. She has also represented clients in actions involving the state's department of child services.
Ms. Edwards is a member of the Order of the Barristers, the South Carolina Bar and American Bar Association and the South Carolina Women Lawyer's Association. She is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of South Carolina, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Ms. Edwards also serves as a Special Prosecutor for the South Carolina Attorney General's Office prosecuting criminal domestic violence.
