About Suzanne
Suzanne is proud of her legal roots as she continues on the family tradition of practicing in the legal field following in the footsteps of her uncle and grandfather, both of whom were attorneys.
She graduated cum laude from St. Bonaventure University in 1989 with a major in English and a minor in Philosophy of Law and in the top third of her class at The University of Dayton School of Law in 1992. Her devotion to criminal law was evident even before entering law school when she worked as a legal intern in the Erie County Public Defender’s Office.
Upon being admitted to the Bar in 1992, she immediately began a tutorage as a law clerk for Judge John C. Uhler here in York County. Her duties involved researching the law and the drafting of legal opinions for cases before the Court. Just as important, a clerkship provides an opportunity to view the operations of a Court from the inside, to learn how judges think.
In 1993, after a year of clerking, Suzanne went to work in the York County Public Defender’s Office. There her trial skills were sharpened with ever increasing responsibility ranging from misdemeanor trials, to felony trials, to death penalty trials. That office quickly recognized her skills as she rose to the position of First Assistant Public Defender for York County. In this role she had additional responsibility involving the supervision and training of junior attorneys on the Public Defender staff. During this time Suzanne also began sharing her love of the law by teaching law classes at York College.
We here at Kearney & Marshall, also saw her talent in the criminal law. After 11 years of honing her skills through trial by fire, Suzanne joined our firm. Our clients have not been disappointed
