About Talya

Talya Yaylaian was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts and is a 2000 graduate of Worcester's Bancroft School.  She has worked for several local businesses and organizations  including Worcester Public Schools and the Worcester Branch of Allmerica Financial, now the  Hanover Insurance Company. Through these experiences, she has established strong ties to the Worcester area and is dedicated to serving the legals needs of Worcester County and surrounding areas.  Talya prides herself in serving the best interests of her clients with integrity and compassion.

                                                           

Talya joined Reardon, Joyce & Akerson, P.C. as a summer associate in May of 2006. As a summer associate with Reardon, Joyce & Akerson, P.C., Talya tackled a variety of complex legal issues in the areas of employment law, civil rights law and personal injury law. She excelled in all of the firm's practice areas and as a result of her superior performance as a summer associate, she was hired as a full time attorney immediately upon obtaining her license to practice law.   

 

Prior to joining Reardon, Joyce & Akerson, P.C., Talya worked as a summer law clerk for Attorney Peter Ventura where she focused solely on personal injury law.  Talya brings her skills in personal injury law to her practice at Reardon, Joyce & Akerson, P.C. where she has a general practice with an emphasis on personal injury, real estate, wills, employment law and family law.

 

Talya is a 2004 graduate of Boston College where she received her B.A. in Communication. Talya was an active member of the Boston College student body where she held leadership positions in the Boston College Armenian Club and the Student Community Outreach for PreHealth Experience (SCOPE) Volunteer Program. She also earned recognition for her academic accomplishments.  Upon the request of her professor, she served as a teaching assistant in the subject of Argumentation Theory. She also earned a spot on Boston College's Dean's List achieving First Honors for Spring & Fall 2003 and Spring 2004. She graduated magna cum laude from New England School of Law in 2007.  While at New England School of Law, Talya excelled in her academic pursuits.  Her exemplary academic performance was acknowledged with a variety of awards and honors. Her accolades include two New England Scholar awards, three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in the subjects of Massachusetts Practice and Procedure, The Law and Ethics of Lawyering, and Perspectives: Law in the Ancient World-Athens/Rome.  She maintained a perpetual spot on the Dean's List throughout law school.  She served as an associate member and a technical editor of New England Law Review.  Her article entitled Warning: Cases May be Interpreted in an Unforeseeably Expansive Manner: United States v. Councilman was published in Volume 41, Book 2 of New England Law Review.  Upon the request of the Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program and the Academic Support and Excellence Program, she also served as a Constitutional Law tutor for first year students.        

           

Talya is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.  She is a member of the Worcester County Bar Association.
