Lauren Cusitello serves as Immigration Counsel at Singleton Schreiber's San Diego office, where she practices within the firm's Civil Rights practice group. With nearly two decades of experience, she represents immigrants, asylum seekers, and individuals facing federal criminal charges, bringing a depth of advocacy shaped by her work in public defense, federal litigation, and nonprofit leadership.

John Lemon is a seasoned trial and appellate lawyer with over 25 years’ experience handling complex, high-stakes cases in state and federal trial courts and in the federal appellate courts. With over 50 cases tried to verdict and at least as many arguments before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Mr. Lemon has won favorable verdicts and appellate decisions in the most serious and complex criminal cases, including theft of trade secrets, racketeering, and murder. Since joining Singleton Schreiber in 2021, he has led the firm’s liability teams in several major fire cases and other mass torts. In July 2025 – acting as lead counsel in a civil trial for the first time – he won an $11.1M verdict in a personal-injury case arising from a road-rage assault. Mr. Lemon is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the State Bar of California as a trial specialist. He was a San Diego Daily Transcript “Top Attorney” for 2009 and was the Best Lawyers 2021 Lawyer of the Year in San Diego for criminal defense. He is AV rated (the highest peer rating for legal ability and ethical standards) by Martindale Hubbell and has been recognized in San Diego Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America every year since 2008 and 2014, respectively. He holds a B.A. in Letters with Distinction from the University of Oklahoma and a J.D. from Stanford.

Cassandra Griffith is an Associate Attorney at Singleton Schreiber’s San Diego office, where she focuses on personal injury. With more than six years of experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases, Cassandra brings comprehensive litigation skills and a deep commitment to advocating for clients who have been injured through the negligence of others. Fluent in Spanish, she is able to serve the diverse communities of San Diego with cultural understanding and accessibility. Cassandra manages a substantial caseload of personal injury matters, guiding clients through every stage of the litigation process. Her experience includes drafting demand packages, conducting settlement negotiations, initiating lawsuits, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for mediation and trial. She consults with medical and accident reconstruction experts to build strong cases and ensure her clients receive the compensation they deserve. Her approach combines strategic legal thinking with genuine empathy for those she represents. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Cassandra served as Head of the Pre-Litigation Department at a prominent San Diego law firm, where she managed more than 200 plaintiff personal injury cases. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience as a Certified Legal Intern at the San Diego City Attorney's Office, where she second-chaired multiple trials, and as a Legal Intern at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, where her service earned her both the Outstanding Service Award and the prestigious Wiley W. Manuel Award. Cassandra also served as a Judicial Extern for Justice Terry O'Rourke at the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One. Cassandra earned her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where she was a Diversity Scholarship recipient and member of the Pro Bono Honor Society. She graduated cum laude from Chestnut Hill College with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and minors in Spanish and International Business. She is admitted to practice in California. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and the San Diego Lawyers Club. A native San Diegan who grew up in the Chula Vista area, Cassandra is married with two young children and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, baking, gardening, and staying active.

Kimberly Hutchison is a Partner with Singleton Schreiber and is a tenacious litigator with a long track record of successfully representing clients in and out of the courtroom. A leading member of the Civil Rights team, she helped the firm obtain one of its most prestigious verdicts to date. She was part of the trial team that obtained an $85 million verdict against the County of San Diego for the wrongful death of a young man named Lucky Phounsy. The Daily Journal recognized it as one of the most significant verdicts in California in 2022. Earlier in her career, Kimberly served as the pro se law clerk in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria, VA for one year, followed by a one-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia, PA. She then worked for the Federal Defenders of San Diego for over 8 years as both a trial attorney and an appellate attorney. She completed numerous jury trials, bench trials, and oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She was also a core member of a legal team that had oral argument in the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as a core member of a legal team that represented an individual charged with capital offenses. She joined the firm in the fall of 2020. Kimberly is admitted to practice in California state and federal courts and is also an inactive member of the Virginia State Bar. Kimberly was born and raised in Connecticut. She moved to California to attend Claremont McKenna College, where she graduated magna cum laude and earned the award for Best Overall Achievement in her major of Philosophy. She then joined Teach for America in Miami, after which she attended law school at American University – Washington College of Law (WCL) in Washington, D.C. In law school, she served in various roles and received several awards on both the WCL Moot Court Honor Society as well as the American University Law Review. She graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Kimberly spends much of her free time on her bicycle, weightlifting, hanging out with her rescue dogs, and competing on her horses. She travels as often as she can and particularly seeks out outdoor adventures like hiking the Inca Trail, scuba diving in Belize, and going rock climbing in Thailand.
