About Thom
Thom G. Field is a graduate of the University of Missouri, receiving his undergraduate degree in 1960. After serving in the United States Army Artillery during the Berlin Blockade and the Cuban missile crisis, he obtained his law degree in 1964, from the same University. He joined the firm upon his graduation from law school and has been a Partner in the firm since 1969.
Mr. Field has practiced commercial, banking and real estate law for over 30 years. He served for 20 years as legal counsel for Ozark Air Lines, Inc., the last five years as Vice President and General Counsel. After the Ozark merger with Trans World Airlines in 1986, he served as Special Counsel for TWA until 1994, in addition to performing aircraft financing work for Aeromexico. Mr. Field has been directly involved in public and private mergers and acquisitions–and he has acted as counsel in aircraft transactions involving an aggregate leasing and financing value in excess of $500,000,000. On behalf of various clients, including Ozark and TWA, he has appeared in numerous administrative and judicial proceedings, both at the trial and appellate levels.
In addition to his commercial, aviation, administrative, and litigation experience, Mr. Field concentrates principally on business and real estate transactions and financing. He has represented and continues to represent a variety of commercial clients, including educational and institutions.
Mr. Field has been admitted to the bars of Missouri, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, and the American Bar Association. He is active in civic affairs, having served as President and a member of the Board of Directors for several local and state organizations.
