introduction
Being born in a small farming community, Shelby, in the Mississippi Delta and farming cotton, rice and soybeans for over 12 years has given him a unique business perspective concerning the practice of law and protecting natural resources. From 1971 – 1973, he served in the U. S. Marine Corp. He is a Rotarian and is serving his third term on the Spartanburg Board of Architectural Design and Historic Review.
He graduated from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia in 1992, and is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and South Carolina. He is married to Elizabeth Belenchia, CEO of Carroll Properties Corporation. He enjoys meeting new people and solving business problems. His favorite hobby is gardening and he can be found most weekends working in his gardens at his home.
