About Thomas

Thomas C. Richardson was born in 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tom graduated with honors from Kalamazoo College in 1977, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1980.

Tom handles bankruptcy matters, including cases in which he is appointed to serve as Trustee. He also does estate planning and represents small businesses.

Tom is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Bar Association of West Michigan. He is a member of the Kalamazoo County Bar Association and was chair of its Probate Section from 1993-1995. He taught Elder Law at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and has been a moderator for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

As with all Lewis, Reed & Allen attorneys, Tom has been actively involved in community activities. He has been on the Salvation Army Board for over 20 years and was Chairman from 1989-1991. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo and served as President in 1987-1988. He is a graduate of Leadership Kalamazoo, was previously involved with the Dispute Resolution Center of Kalamazoo and Barry Counties and served as Secretary of the Kalamazoo College Alumni Association. He has served on the Westwood United Methodist Church Foundation Committee and gone on the Appalachia Service Project.
