  • Madison Granite Co. v. Indus. Comm'n of Ariz., 138 Ariz. 573, 676 P.2d 1 (Ct. App. 1983)
In Madison, the Court of Appeals of Arizona ruled that a witness in a proceeding before the ICA, although not a medical doctor, may offer medical testimony as long as he or she possesses the necessary qualifications to be knowledgable on the facts of the specific case. Accordingly, the court affirmed the ALJ’s ruling in favor of the injured worker because he or she had met his or her burden of proof.

  • Carr v. Indus. Comm'n of Ariz., 197 Ariz. 164, 3 P.3d 1084 (Ct. App. 1999)
In Carr, the Court of Appeals of Arizona ruled that an injured worker who is required to travel outside his community to receive medical treatment is entitled to be reimbursed for his travel expenses. The court reasoned that denying reimbursement for travel expenses would result in a financial hardship for the injured worker and would deny him medical treatment that he is entitled to receive under Arizona workers’ compensation laws.

5 Costly Mistakes to Avoid Before Filing Bankruptcy
Don't Make These 5 Common Mistakes Before Filing Bankruptcy.
When Bankruptcy Is a Smart Financial Move
Most people see bankruptcy as a last resort — something to avoid at all costs. But in reality, bankruptcy isn’t about failure. It’s about strategy and resetting your financial life when debt has spiraled beyond control. In some cases, filing for bankruptcy is not only smart — it's the most financially responsible decision you can make.
Does Getting a Document Notarized Make It "Legal"?
The public's perception of what a notary does and what notarization accomplishes is often incorrect. This is particularly the case when a person brings a document to a notary public to be notarized, thinking that the notarization will in some way "legalize" the document or make it "official."
