About Thomas
Thomas A. Gravely concentrates his practice on commercial and real estate transactions, commercial lending and general business representation. Mr. Gravely's transactional practice focuses on acquisitions, development issues, financing, refinancing and leasing involving commercial and multiple-lot residential real estate, large mixed-use projects, retail projects, shopping centers, multi-story office buildings, multi-family residential complexes, hotel and recreational complexes, including real estate and loan portfolio acquisitions. His involvement commences with the due diligence, the negotiation of the purchase contract, preparation of development agreements and cross easement agreements, and continues through the construction, development/redevelopment, architectural and engineering process, the leasing process and the financing process, including the loan application, review and modification of the loan commitment letter, preparation and review of the final loan documentation, and concludes with the closing of the transaction, including analysis of issues relating to the issuance of title insurance. Mr. Gravely's commercial lending practice entails commercial/real estate and asset based lending (including extensive experience in all SBA loan programs) and investment banking.
Mr. Gravely also has extensive litigation experience and assists clients with real estate related litigation matters. Prior to joining Shulman Rogers in 2006, Mr. Gravely practiced at an insurance defense firm in Baltimore, Maryland where he defended products liability, personal injury and professional malpractice claims in courts throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Gravely's clients include local and national real estate developers, investors, lenders, shopping center owners, hotel owners and home builders. He also represents landlords and tenants in retail, industrial, ground and office lease transactions.
