About Thomas
Ever since I was a little kid, I have been completely captivated by the Constitution and the U.S. Supreme Court. Anything related to either of those would grab my attention, and as I got older I realized that I could actually do something with that interest. So while getting through my regular schooling, the natural progression for my education was to go to law school.
MY BACKGROUND
I had the opportunity to take a trial advocacy class and was hooked. After that class, I was accepted to the mock trial team and did very well there. As a law student at the University of Akron School of Law, I was blessed to be part of one of the top trial advocacy groups in the country.
Once I became part of that team, my passion reached new heights and I never looked back. Participating in mock juries, getting to travel around the country, and really experiencing a lot of trial work was invaluable to my education and career preparation. At times, I felt scared to death that I would fail but continued to grow in every situation outside of my comfort zone.

I graduated from law school in 1994 and began my career in criminal defense law. That was the fastest way to stand at a trial with a jury, and for me, it all just clicked. I was confident in my representation skills, especially after the first three trials I handled resulted in “Not Guilty” verdicts for my clients. After building my knowledge, skills, and confidence for six years working with other law firms, I had the opportunity to open my own firm. While there was some back and forth between being a solo practitioner and serving as in-house counsel for other firms, I ultimately came back to private practice and the doors of TCM Law Group have been open ever since.
