About Timothy
Mr. Midura has substantial practice experience with Huck Bouma, as well as previously being a partner in a Chicago law firm and a member of the tax department of a Big Four public accounting and consulting company.
Mr. Midura's practice is oriented to: complex estate and trust planning and administration, including conflicted matters and also charitable facilitation; tax and financial matters; and business planning. He is the chairperson of Huck Bouma's Estate Administration Committee and leads the firm's Estate and Trust Conflict Resolution Group.
Mr. Midura has numerous published articles to his credit and speaks frequently on matters of estate and trust, charitable, financial, and business. He has contributed to or been quoted in, among others, Fortune, Chicago Sun Times, The Journal of Gift Planning, and Illinois CPA Society News. He is the author of the books: Estate Planning Primer: What Everyone Needs to Know About Estate Planning, published by IICLE, Everyday Mistakes in Estate Planning, published by IICLE, and a series of Estate Planning Memoranda, published by IICLE. Mr. Midura also authored the chapter Handling Charitable Bequests and Trusts in IICLE's Estate Administration book.
Mr. Midura has served on behalf of a number of boards of not-for-profit foundations and corporations, including Christian Ministries Foundation (a community foundation), in Georgia, ALM International (an international health organization), in South Carolina, Soli Deo Gloria (an international sacred music production foundation), in Illinois, Deicke Center for Visual Rehabilitation (a nationally recognized provider of professional assistance to people with low vision and their families), in Illinois, and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (the preeminent continuing education source for Illinois lawyers). He has served on the estate and gift tax planning committee of the Illinois CPA Society and as a director of the Chicago Council on Planned Giving.
Mr. Midura is licensed as an attorney in both Illinois and Florida. He is also an Illinois registered Certified Public Accountant. In addition to his Juris Doctor (JD) and CPA credentials, he also has a masters degree (LL.M.) in taxation. His undergraduate degree double majored in accountancy and finance.
Mr. Midura has a special interest in charitable endeavors and in facilitating charitable giving through estate planning that meet family goals. He has demonstrated a special talent in handling complex and conflict estate and trust matters, involving estate and trust conflict arbitration and mediation.
Personally, Mr. Midura has enjoyed raising his three children. He currently enjoys church and philanthropic activities, motorcycling the country with a group of friends, and also pursuing skills in dancing.
