You deserve a top rated law firm that you can trust to help you following an accident, or criminal investigation. Our experienced lawyers at Durflinger Oliver & Associates have a proven track record of protecting clients, and helping them move forward in life. Things are almost never as bad as they seem. Call us, and we can help put your mind at ease with a smart plan of attack. If you have been charged with a crime, received a traffic ticket, or have been injured because of someone’s negligence, the choice you make in an attorney will have long lasting consequences. Criminal charges can result in Article 15 and Chapter proceedings, jail, fines, and treatment. All of these things are expensive, and potentially life altering. Traffic tickets, while less serious, can affect your insurance rate, and even your license. An accident can result in massive hospital bills, suffering and bankruptcy. When you need help, our team is here for you. At Durflinger Oliver & Associates you don't have to settle for a single attorney when you can hire a team of experienced lawyers to fight for you. Our attorneys have a half century of collective litigation experience. That means you can rest assured that your case will receive the benefit of 50 years of courtroom practice and experience working with judges, insurance adjusters, and opposing attorneys. Best of all, you get this team at a great value, so you don't have to settle for a single, less experienced lawyer. Founding Partner and Of Counsel attorney James Oliver paid for college by serving in the Army Reserves. In college, he co-captained his university’s NCAA Men’s Volleyball team. As a result of his athletic experience and military service, he understands the value of a team, and the needs and concerns of service members and their families. That’s why he built this firm, and that’s why he instituted the Military Discount offered to service members by Durflinger Oliver & Associates. Founding partner Natalie Durflinger graduated with honors from both the University of Washington and Gonzaga School of Law. At Gonzaga, Natalie was a Thomas More Scholar, and founded the university’s American Civil Liberties Chapter, serving as President. She also performed community service locally, and in Central America before following her passion for criminal defense and establishing Durflinger Oliver & Associates with James Oliver. Natalie’s practice is dedicated almost exclusively to misdemeanor criminal defense including domestic violence, driving offenses, drug charges, and property crimes. She has an established reputation as an aggressive defense attorney who is respected by judges and prosecutors alike. Natalie also has shared her Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure knowledge as a College Adjunct Professor. Senior Associate Martha McLaughlin heads up the firm’s Personal Injury section. She is an Honors Graduate from the University of Puget Sound, and also from Seattle University School of Law. Martha's husband of 30 years is a retired Air Force officer, so Martha knows the difficulties endured by service members and their families. She also knows how to protect you and your family following an accident, or criminal charges. As a former prosecutor, she has been on both sides of the fight and understands what judges are looking for. Martha’s dedicated personal injury paralegal brings three decades of injury litigation experience to the firm, and the two professionals work closely with the firm’s other attorneys to ensure exceptional results for each of our clients. Tracey Munger represents clients accused of felony offenses, and clients in danger of losing their children in dependency proceedings. Her litigation experience began in Louisiana during law school, and continued on into Washington in 2002. She has represented clients in almost every court in the Puget Sound region, and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Federal Court as well. She has won cases as simple as traffic infraction to as complex as federal drug trafficking and everything in between. As head of the Felony Section, Tracey decides which cases the firm will accept, and which staff to assign as support. Her reputation as a “street fighter” has been earned through countless negotiations, hearings, motions, and trials. After 14 years of practice in Western Washington, Tracey has a great understanding of, and appreciation for, the sacrifices of our service members and their families, and she works hard to protect them. Durflinger Oliver & Associates Of Counsel attorney Andrew Huff is a Seattle native who started his career as a prosecuting attorney with Kitsap County before being hired as an associate by well-known criminal defense firm Bennett Raney Moran and Gianneschi. In 2001, he went out on his own and started the Law Office of Andrew Charles Huff in Seattle. Andrew is a former board member of “Citizens for Judicial Excellence,” member of “National College for DUI Defense” and the “Order of Barristers.“ He is also an experienced Judge Pro Tem, which means that he clearly understands what needs to be done to protect his clients. Andrew is a valued teammate of Durflinger Oliver, and his contributions to the accused have brought relief to hundreds of Washington families. No legal team is worth a thing without high quality support staff, and the Durflinger Oliver team is exceptional. In fact, Durflinger Oliver has twice been awarded the “Firm of the Year” award by the Pierce County Chapter of NALS – The National Association of Legal Professionals. The staff at Durflinger Oliver make the weekly team meetings possible and productive and ensure that every client file is regularly team reviewed. This ensures the highest quality representation at the best value. In addition to our Military Discount, we also offer convenient payment plans, and bilingual Spanish services. We look forward to meeting with you for your free consultation. I was born and raised in Seattle, and am pleased to practice in our great Pacific Northwest. This is my home. I graduated from law school in 1984 and went to work for the Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. This provided an opportunity to develop trial skills and the ability to present cases to judges and juries. From 1986-1990, I was the managing attorney for the main Seattle Office for Hyatt Legal Services. This position provided an opportunity to analyze and solve various issues that confront a general practice such as: Domestic Relations, Criminal Defense, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Wills, and miscellaneous consumer matters. It also provided many opportunities to practice in State and Federal court. From 1990-97, I was an insurance defense attorney for the Seattle law firm of Alexander & Bierman. For several years, I defended hundreds of cases on the insurance company's behalf. I know how insurance companies value claims and the techniques they employ in an effort to detract from the value of a claim. In 1997, I opened my own law practice. I specialize in representing people injured by the negligence of others against the insurance company. Let me use my experience from years of defending the insurance company to your advantage. Michael E. Mazon Attorney At Law Lawyer.com Member Questionnaire Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference. I had a case against a prominent hotel in the pacific northwest. The hotel itself was brand new and was celebrating its grand opening. My client fell on the stairwell within the hotel and incurred severe injuries. Others had previously been injured. by this stairwell. I brought suit and was able to obtain reasonable compensation for my client. The hotel completely reconfigured that part of the stairwell in question. How did you build a successful practice? I built a successful pracitce by focusing on one client at a time. What should clients look for in a lawyer? Ultimately, a client should look for a lawyer that is well versed in their specific field of practice. In other words, if a client has an injury claim, they want a lawyer that has dealt with that type of injury and the accident that caused it. It's kind of like choosing a doctor. How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases? Local knowledge is important if the case goes to litigation. For example, an attorney should have knowledge of the local rules in the county where the case has been filed. What information can you provide in a free phone consultation? I can provide all the information in a telephone consultation that I could in a live in-office consultation. I can educate the client in all aspects of the injury case starting with the claims phase all the way through a jury trial. What information do you need in a free phone consultation? Just the basics: date of the accident, location, liability, insurance, and type of injury. What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community? The fact that I had 8 years of experience defending the insurance company before I began representing the injured person against the insurance company. I can anticipate what the insurance company will do. I know their tactics and the tricks they attempt to pull. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Obtaining reasonable compensation for my client. Ultimately, that's all any personal injury attorney can do for their client. What are your other interests in addition to law? Music, travel, golf, family. Are you involved in your community? I'm a member of the Washington State Association for Justice and actively contribute to the American Cancer Society.

Preston White is an attorney representing clients in criminal and family law cases in Olympia, Washington, and the surrounding counties. While serving as an Arabic translator in the United States Marine Corps, and the Utah Air National Guard, Preston earned degrees in Psychology and English at the University of Utah and then earned his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. With an original goal of becoming a prosecutor, Preston focused his studies on criminal law. It was as a law clerk in a small military criminal defense firm in Seattle that he began to see the injustices in the system, and the unlawful, unfair, and often arbitrary way laws are enforced. His experiences at that firm steered him away from working for the system, and toward fighting against it. It was there that he developed the motto, “defending the accused, and policing the police.” Following graduation, and the passing bar exam, Preston returned to Utah, where he opened a solo practice focused on criminal defense and family law in 2014. As his successes developed his confidence as an attorney, his losses sharpened and tempered both his skills and his resolve. As a result, he developed into a confident, and effective advocate, with the skills to pursue, and obtain excellent results both inside, and outside the courtroom. His knowledge, efforts, and abilities have resulted in a number of not-guilty verdicts in “unwinnable” cases, as well as dramatically reduces charges, and sentences in cases that resolved outside of trial. He has successfully defended hundreds of clients, saving them incalculable amounts of time, and money, as well as providing guidance to them on how to successfully navigate the system throughout the life of their cases. As a criminal defense attorney, Preston has successfully represented clients in cases ranging from traffic infractions, DUI’s, and simple assaults, to sex crimes, and aggravated assaults. As a family law attorney, he has successfully represented clients in dissolution, spousal support, and custody cases. Preston grew up in Northern Utah and currently resides in Thurston County with his wife, three children, dog, cat, and (so he says, because his wife does not like mice, and one of his daughters does not like spiders) countless mice, spiders, and spider-mice. His interests include good coffee, unique cars, and laughing at his own jokes. According to his wife, if he was half as funny as he thought he was, he wouldn’t have to practice law for a living. Fortunately, he is a better lawyer than a comedian.
