Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I represented a combat veteran who had experienced terrible PTSD. He was accused of stabbing another veteran during a drunken incident. He was charged with attempted murder. After extensive litigation we were able to get him into a veterans program, get his charges dismissed and get him on the road to recovery.

How did you build a successful practice?

I built a successful practice based upon the same method I employ to maintain it. I handle each client personally, pay attention to details and continuously follow up on cases to make sure but the client is getting the best representation possible. The details are where the difference is made.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for an attorney who is compassionate, listens well and communicates the law and the legal process to the client clearly. It's also important that the client understand what the lawyer can and cannot do and look for an attorney who has a lot of experience in that particular field and in that particular geographic area.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is critical to my success. I have long-standing successful relationships with judges, prosecutors and other court staff that make a difference for my clients.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I offer complementary consultations to discuss any aspect of the case so that the client, when they make the decision knows that I understand the legal problem and can help them.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need clients to be good listeners and respond to my questions in as much detail as they can and help me by providing documentation so that I can help them.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Each wire is different. It comes down to a connection you have with a potential client in their sense of comfort with you. I do what I do because I genuinely want to help people in a critical time in their life. I think that comes through in our communications.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

It is incredibly rewarding to put somebody in a better position than they found themselves at the beginning of the legal process. Knowing that my clients received a full and fair due process is the greatest reward.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I am active in outdoors, camping, hiking and tennis.

Are you involved in your community?

I also have served on a number of nonprofit boards and other social services.
