About Wendy
After being an educator for 20 years, Wendy Kerner was catapulted back into school to study law. She was, and still is, concerned about how industries have been adversely impacting the environment and environmental justice communities, particularly children. She has a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law and is focused on using legal pathways to hold polluters responsible for these harms.
Prior to working for 1-800-Law-Firm, she worked on cases involving numerous environmental issues and was co-counsel for a landmark Clean Water Act case in the Tenth Circuit. In that case, plaintiffs prevailed over a mine that was discharging contaminants into the South Platte River. In 2022, Making Environmental Wrongs Environmental Rights: A Constitutional Approach, was published in the Stanford Environmental Law Journal.
In her current position as environmental attorney for 1-800-Law-Firm, she is passionate about developing causes of action against corporations that are profiting by contaminating the air, water, and soil at the expense of public health and the environment. Kerner is licensed to practice law in Colorado.
