Mr. William A. Matos is a highly experienced litigator who has handled  thousands of cases in his twenty plus year career with great results

Mr. Matos is a graduate of Mercer Law School in 1994.  His first position was with Georgia Legal Services Migrant Farmworker Project in Tifton, Georgia.  While at Georgia Legal Services, William was responsible for handling wage and hour disputes as well as working conditions and immigration issues for seasonal workers in South Georgia.  Since leaving Georgia Legal Services, William has been primarily in private practice.  His areas of concentration have been Criminal, Traffic, DUI, Immigration and Family.  Mr. Matos has represented clients in federal, municipal, state and superior courts throughout Georgia.

On the criminal side, Mr. Matos has vast experience as a Prosecutor, Defense Attorney and Municipal Court Judge.  He was the City Solicitor  for both the City of Macon, Georgia and the City of East Point, Georgia.  He was also one of the first Latino Judges in Georgia when he was named as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Macon in 1998.  He has successfully handled murder, drug cases, molestation, theft and DUI/Traffic cases.  Mr. Matos has represented clients in municipal, state, superior and federal courts with a high degree of successful results through plea negotiations and jury trials .  In addition, he is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College.

As for immigration cases, Mr. Matos has handled numerous immigration cases in his twenty year career with great results, including immigration court cases in Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte. North Carolina and appeals to the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Virginia.  He has handled Asylum, Naturalization, Family Petitions, Deferred Actions, Adjustment of Status and USCIS Field Interviews as well as Cancellation of Removals, Voluntary Departures and obtaining bonds in removal (deportation) hearings in Immigration Court.  Aside from his legal representation, Mr. Matos has been invited and has conducted numerous outreach seminars about immigration issues throughout the State of Georgia.

Mr. Matos is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Georgia State Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals and the Northern and Middle Federal Districts Courts in Georgia.  Mr. Matos and his wife reside in College Park, Georgia.
