About W.

I attended Xavier University and earned my Bachelor's Degree in three years, attending school year round. I was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 2004, after clerking for a highly reputable family law attorney while I was in law school at The University of Dayton School of Law from 2001-2004. After graduating, I began practicing with a focus on family law and have focused on family law ever since. I have been awarded many awards including, but not limited to, The American Society of Legal Advocates Top 40 Family Lawyers Under 40 in the State of Ohio, The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, several years of the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys Client Satisfaction Award, several years of the Top Lawyers as published in the Cincinnati Magazine, the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys Top 10 Under 40, several years of the Top Attorneys in Ohio Rising Stars, a Super Lawyers selectee for 2016 and 2017 (which is only 5% of attorneys in Ohio) and most recently, the Distinguished Lawyer Designation from the Expert Network which is only conferred upon the Top 3% of Lawyers in the U.S. I have accomplished all of this while being active in the community, spending as much time as I can with my wife and our daughter, spending time with family and friends and being involved in various sports, boating activities and traveling. Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I was the attorney of record for a Civil Protection Order case. After a two day trial, my client received a 5 year Civil Protection Order against her soon to be ex-husband.

How did you build a successful practice?

I was fortunate enough to have the right mentors and patient enough to wait for the right time to open my own practice.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Honesty, good communication, ethical, hard worker, not afraid to stand up for their client.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Very important. It's very helpful to know the local rules, procedures, judges and magistrates. It gives them the ability to give a realistic expectation.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I help get people to a better place.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Spending time with my family, boating, sports, spending time with friends.

Are you involved in your community?

I am a trustee for the University of Dayton School of Law Alumni Board. I am also a trustee on the board for the Abuse, Rape and Crisis Shelter of Warren County. My family and a live in a wonderful community and often attend and host various events for the children and the adults in our community.
