Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I settled a case for severely brain injured client. The recovery will provide for living expenses and pay medical bills. It will also allow her to have continuous attendant care to ensure that her health is monitored, that she is comfortable, and that she not at risk of injuring herself further. I settled a wrongful death medical malpractice case that will allow an orphaned child to pay for his college and later purchase a home when he is of the appropriate age.

How did you build a successful practice?

By choosing to work for good people who truly need help, by working for a relatively few number of client so that I can give each the personal attention their case needs, and by hiring the best expert witnesses to help us support the cases.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Honestly, experience, and a willingness to invest the time and expense needed to properly prepare the case.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Very. All jurisdictions have different procedural rules and substantive law. Maintaining good relationships with local expert witnesses and investigators is a huge advantage.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Explain the litigation process, give some thoughts about whether the potential client has a viable case, and answer any questions they may have about me or the legal process.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Date of injury, kind of injury, cause of injury, and contact information.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

We spend the time and resources to fully investigate and develop our cases for trial. We form personal relationships with our clients and take the time to fully explain the process to them. And, we take cases to trial if necessary, instead of having our clients accept a poor settlement.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping those in need. Simple as that.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My children, running, fishing, and being on the water.
