About Zach

Zach is a former DUI prosecutor in Gwinnett County who now puts his wealth of experience to work in defense of those who stand accused. Zach was the lead prosecutor in Division Six of the State Court of Gwinnett County where he prosecuted thousands of DUI cases. Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

A client was stopped on his way home from a bar by a DUI task force officer. He blew a .102, but I was able to show the jury that a foreign object in his mouth could have created a higher than normal result. Client was acquitted at trial.

How did you build a successful practice?

Creativity in defense strategy, a wide knowledge base, and through maintaining solid relationships with prosecutors and police officers as well as my fellow defense attorneys.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience, professionalism, and rapport with all the players in their case.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Knowledge of the local geography, demographics, and strong rapport with the officers, judges, and prosecutors are very important to a successful defense.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can provide feedback about the strength of their case including some preliminary ideas on strategy. If the case has been assigned to a particular prosecutor and judge, I can give some insight on the personalities that will be at play in negotiations.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Full name and contact information, citation numbers, the jurisdiction where the case is being prosecuted, name of the arresting officer, date of arrest, general criminal history.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My experience as a prosecutor who specialized in DUI sets me apart from the other lawyers. I have the ability to analyze a case from both sides and know how the individual on the other side of the table will likely react to the facts. I also bring unique knowledge as a home brewer who attended bar tending school before law school. I generally know more about alcohol than any one else involved in a DUI case.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping people to rescue their careers and other aspects of their lives that were jeopardized by a single night's mistake.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Home brewing, hockey, football, reading, travel.

Are you involved in your community?

I have a young daughter who monopolizes my time, but I look forward to getting involved in community youth activities as she gets older.
