About Zoe

Zoe Meigs, age 43, grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she earned a BA in English. In 1983 she moved to Texas to attend the University of Texas School of Law. After graduating in the top third of her class, she took her first legal job with Rain Harrell Emery Young & Doke (which later became Locke Liddell) in Dallas, Texas. There she practiced in the firm's corporate and securities department. She learned and practiced excellent document drafting skills and attention to detail. Though working in Dallas, Ms. Meigs lived in Fort Worth, and has lived in Fort Worth since 1986.

In 1988 she hired on at McDonald Sanders, a Fort Worth law firm, and did a general office practice including business law and some litigation support. She chose to stay home full-time with her two daughters from 1992-1998. During those years she was very active in her church, First Presbyterian, Fort Worth, where she headed many committees and projects, most of which served children. This included chairing both the preschool board and vacation church school. Ms. Meigs also serves as a community volunteer with the Junior League of Fort Worth.

After being divorced in 1998, Ms. Meigs returned to the practice of law in 1999, as an in-house counsel and general sales assistant at a small investment firm. After a year there, she took a job with Loe, Warren, Rosenfield, Kaitcer and Hibbs, and spent much of her time there practicing family law and civil litigation. It was there that she discovered what would become her niche in the legal field, family law. Some of the types of cases she worked on at Loe Warren were contested divorces, agreed divorces, divorce mediation, tracing of separate property, qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs), parental termination, adoption, custody modification, visitation and access issues, modifications of child support and many other family law cases.

In April 2001, Zoe Meigs launched her own firm in order to limit her practice to family law and to implement her own ideas and philosophy about practicing law. She knows it will now be easier for her to do cases for clients in the way she knows is best for the clients. She works on all varieties of family law cases including contested and uncontested divorces, child custody issues, modifications of custody and child support, enforcement of child support and visitation orders.

Ms. Meigs brings maturity, compassion, intelligence and tenacity to the practice of family law. Call for an initial free phone consultation today. 817-336-2325.
